I am really upset to see women in Fox News. Fox News is a conservative, pro-Christian, allegedly FAMILY VALUES cable news. It has women ancors - they have to be young and look like babes. They are usually tall blond with short mini-skirts. But there are also some african american - one woman has so outrageous make up - shiny eyes and lips, I wish I could find her picture somewhere.
I think that this station targets men in middle-age crisis. Just see on your own:
here is announcement of Happy Hour (Fox Business News):

I think the way they present women as babes. Here are some comments about it. Laura Ingram questions whether men in Fox have midlife crisis in discussion with O'Reilly. It is in a video which is a part of the article critical to FoxNews: Kurtz: "Fox News does seem to like video of scantily clad women" mediamatters.org/items/200702050009

Ahhhh....
NOW I see why I should be watching Fox/Faux News! Pretty foxy. I don't think a guy needs to be in mid-life crisis to appreciate all that leg, but in Alaska I can see why Fox is so popular. To see that much feminine leg up here you have to go to either ABC or ABT - Alaska Bush Company or Anchorage Baptist Temple. It is quite noticeable how the evangelicals on TV have always had these photogenic women with them .. well, sometimes with plastic face lifts or 1 kg of makeup, but pretty by their standards. At least the women in ABC are hiding nothing!
I agree Jaga, it seems they want to titillate the public and generate more profit. The strippers in Las Vegas do it, why not Fox News?

Glamor sells. Our local FOX station has gone thru transitions too. First the studio got an overhaul, then the main tv anchor woman got an overhaul. I don't know if the company told her to start wearing fancier clothes or whether that was a personal choice. She even had her hair style changed. I really don't have problems with the changes, as long as they deliver the local news as they have been doing.
But it is quite evident that FOX is definitely pro-women.
There was a story about "dead beat dads" & what the state of Texas was doing about it. FOX one day showed the Father's side of the issue and then re-canted the story by having the attorney general on saying that the father in that story was a dead beat. Since that story I have never seen any more stories about the Father's side of the story, but yet FOX continued on with the "dead beat propaganda." They are not fair in their reporting for both sides of a story. Joyce TX

They are always happy-lucky bunch of men and sexy dressed women. Their stories are usually to show one point, they do want to highlight only what they want audience to believe in. I do not think we can call Fox as "pro-women". If they would be pro-women they would hire some middle-aged women for news, not only fashion models.

I do not even have Fox news, and I do not miss it since I did not particularry liked the popular or populist conservative chanal. I do receive CNN and the BBC, and they are good enough for me next to the European continental chanals I can receive!

I have had more time to think about it and I remembered the theory of economics that teh health of the economy follows the fashion of hemlines on women's skirts - when hemlines go high, the economy / stockmarket go high. When hemlines fall then the stocks fall.
So all I can conclude is that Fox, being a network pushing government by faith (faith based initiatives and such) also has faith (superstition) in the hemline theory. So they keep theirs as high as possible. Any higher on most of those examples posted and there would be no need for skirts at all, but rather 'hotpants'.
The trouble with their practice is that if the economy starts to dip, they have nowhere to hike the skirts to raise the economy any further! Sadly, the newest fashion is reported to be toward longer skirts - lower hemlines, and thus lower stock market ....
If this holds true we will have some very long skirts for a very long time as we struggle to pay off George Bush's astronomical debt. Who ever called him a conservative??

Unfortunately Fox has the biggest audience in the US from all the news channels. It is due to the old men and men with mid-age crisis. I hope that they would lose these audiences with time since their news are becoming more and more ridiculous. They may gain people who just want to watch fun. They are pro-Bush and they always promote Republican, conservatist pro-christian agenda, therefore their treatment women is so hipocritical. here is more about Fox, if you would like to see some of it: www.newshounds.us/they have also some youtube fragments +++ thanks for the links from other TVs. I remember, in Poland we had Italian TV and I did not like their way how they presented women also (tall and blond always - next to the middle-aged short men). If you would like to have

Here is another news from Fox News. They are talking about a serial killer but look what they show:
by the way, O'Reilly - a top morality teacher in Fox, was talking about how to prevent kids from watching porn and... he was showing all the porn!

Pieter,
these Polish musical news were not that bad. The girl was just dressed very normally.
By the way, one very attractive Polish news presenter lost her job not because she was unqualified (she was very good) but because she was considered.... too attractive!

What you watch on your FOX station is NOT the same that I watch on my FOX station. NOT all FOX's programming is the same. So what you see on your FOX is not the same as I view it in the local Dallas/Ft. Worth area. That's why you and I have different view points. Joyce TX

If you would like to have Like in Paris fashion shows these tall blond women were often girls from Northern-West European countries, Dutch, German and Dutch. Why, because Southern-European men love tall, blond, Northern women, opposite attracts and sex sells, especially in Italy, a country with very few emancipated women and stereotypical views on male and female roles.
