who knows.... see these herring which is dead in Norway, for unknown reasons....

Yes, what a stinking mess to wash up, then to wash back into the sea with the tides. There are so many variables as to guesses, speculations as to reason{s} of such fish kill of 20 tons of dead herring as to be just speculative.
The coastal tides off Norway, are a very large mixing bowl of out going fresh water in to salt water tidal currants. For the most part, are a source of food for various fish species feeding off the wash down from upland river flows.
In this case, a horrific accident of nature has taken place with such decimated fish stocks.
The sea is both mother, and reaper of death, for she gives and at her whelm, she will take.
