My brother sent me two CD with two parts of so called September Psalter (Psalterz Wrzesniowy) which had its premiere in Kielce last year in September. The music is just amazing, grandiose - the texts are mainly from the bible and also philosophical. Especially part II is just amazing! Here is the main website of this event, there were several artists who took part in this performance: www.tu-es-petrus.pl/pw/You should be able to listen to some of the music here: www.tu-es-petrus.pl/pw/media/teledyski.htmlbut I was not able to download it from the computer. I really do not know too much about it yet but it is worth to have the CDs!!! I hope we can find more fragments of the internet

Sorry to bother you with so much information but this is just soo interesting.
The concert in 2006 was the third part of the oratorio. Here are the fragments of the 2nd and the 1rd part which were first performed in 2005 and 2004 respectively:
Tu Es Petrus
here you can see a composer – Piotr Rubik coming to the scene and performing as an orchestra director
Santa Cross Golgotha
The Death and Three bridesmaid

Jaga... I can feel your excitement and enthusiasim right thru my PC screen. Thanks for sharing. This reminds me of what I have seen here and is known as Christian Rock. Sort of taking the Gospel and putting it to modern music. A differnet twist.

Chris,
could you give me the examples of this type of music? Is it all too common in the US? Maybe it is, I just do not know. Of course I have heard some of this religious type of music, still I did not see any of the grandiose concerts of this type in the US. Maybe this is just a novelty in Poland but nothing here, therefore there is even no mention of this concert in any English-type media?

The music is amazing when listened from the CD player. The youtube has limited sound availability. It became a DOUBLE DIAMOND record in Poland already.
But some people complain that this is kitsch, too easy.
In some ways, I am glad that we have finally young artists, not only the old guys like Penderecki. From rumours I have heard, Penderecki has inflated ego, lots of titles and.... he needs to let younger artists to come to the Polish scene. So, at least this is a try. The composer - Piotr Rubik was born in 1968, so he has still a long way to go!
