I love blueberries and July is when they're in season. I am cleaning out my freezer so I have room to freeze some to enjoy in the middle of winter. I like this blueberry crisp recipe, and this works with fresh or frozen berries: 4 cups blueberries 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup butter 3/4 cup all-purpose flour Heat oven to 350 F (175 C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish. Place blueberries in baking dish, sprinkle with cinnamon. If blueberries are tart, sprinkle with a tablespoon of sugar as well. In a bowl, cream together sugar and butter, add flour, mix just until mixture resembles crumbs. Sprinkle mixture evenly over blueberries. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until top of crust is golden brown. P.S. This is best when it's warm, with vanilla ice cream!

Recently blueberries have been identified as one of naure's perfect foods - something about antioxidants.
I love 'em -- esp. with cream! Yum ! Butter, sugar and flour don't hurt either!
;D

Recently blueberries have been identified as one of naure's perfect foods - something about antioxidants. ;D Well Nancy, To assure you DO visit Alaska (for the cool weather), I will let you in on a secret: we enjoy both high-bush blueberries and low bush blueberries! YUM !! Kai I was camping onthe tundra up by Kotzebue one time and could not find a place to set up my tent that was not on top of the blueberries. The sadness of camping on top of the blueberries was overcome at breakfast when I rolled over, reached outside the tent and picked the fresh blueberries for breakfast ...

The ultimate in fast food! ;D I was one hiking with a friend in New Hampshire and on the way back down, after a long, hot hike, we found wild lowbush blueberries and had an instant snack.

I really need to make a trip to Victoria, and then Alaska. I need to see eagles. Blueberries would really take it over the top. (No Princess cruises for me, thank you very much!!)

I quart blueberries and seedless white grapes about 1#, 1 pint sour cream, mix all together and chill and eat. Delicious... I got this recipe from a Dutch friend of mine. The sour cream seems to disappear.

I remember, I ate the whole bowl of blueberries with cream and sugar after the very exhausting trip to the Polish Tatra. The treat was very good but the blueberries (jagody) almost burned my tonque. I never could explain why - but this was probably the result of both - being too dry and tired after the trip and maybe some special juices in the high mountain blueberries
