Do you like kaszanka, kiszka? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KaszankaKaszanka (also known as kiszka, krupnik or krupniok) is a traditional Polish blood sausage, made of blood and kasza, a typical Slavic buckwheat or groats. Kaszanka may be eaten raw but traditionally it is either grilled or fried with some onion and then served with potato and sauerkraut.

kaszanka has a specific taste not everybody likes it

And it does not have to be in casings to be enjoyed. Many times in Poland it is served in a large bowl, no casings. With dark Polish fresh bread it is super.

In the UK too we have Kaszanka - called here Black Pudding. It is certainly a cultivated taste with many people here reacting to it as I react to smalec - that is, too gruesome to be eaten!!! But I love it and at a hotel where I used to holiday each year, when the chef knew I was coming, he ensured that there was black pudding available for my breakfast! But one couple at the regular table alongside me had to move as they couldn't stand the sight of the black pudding - at least I think that's what it was!!! To be perfect black pudding it must have semi-solid lumps of fat spread throughout it. L
