John Many thanks for your description of your drinking habits - and there are people on this forum who are calling me an alcoholic!!!!! ;D Yes, normally woman drink half pints while their menfolk are drinking pints. But this can vary with the age culture - if you go on a Saturday night, late, to a town centre bar where there are a lot of young people (quite a few under age) you will find both sexes drinking pints - a sign of the times! Leslie I have never called you or heard you called an alcoholic ! However, I didn't state that I did this every night. I Might miss one or two nights during the week.

John Come off it! When people say they miss one or two, it almost always means 'one'!!
Na zdrowie!

Leslie...I was in a liquor store yesterday buying my Lotto tickets (nope no winners here ) I was surprised to see so many bottles of Polish Vodka's for sale. Usually it would only be the long standing originals. Hmmmmmmmm...I guess we have to thank the recent popularity of martini's for this one.

I don't apologize for my drinking habits. I don't smoke, do illegal drugs or sniff glue. I have a few drinks after I pay my dues "to the man", and that 's that. I make no apologies. Because of my cholesterol issues, my blood is drawn every 4 months and liver function tested. If something pops up, I'll know quick enough, and adjust! At poprawiny the day after the wedding, I learned I had a new name: dziki Amerykanski (maybe Amerykanin, not sure, my head hurt a bit). At first I didn't know if I should be offended, but learned that no one could understand how I could travel the 27 hours (you don't wanna know) from my home to Lodz, drink all night with the family of the bride (where I stayed that night), then get up and REALLY kick it into gear. The reception started at 8:45PM with champagne, and I staggered to my room at the hostel @ 5:30 AM... I drank, danced and sang Polish songs all nite long. Wyborowa was the fare at the wedding: two days later is was Absolwent up in Mikolajowek. The wedding was really quite unreal, and never thought I could hang in there as long as I did. My screen name is Piwo, and I enjoy a nice beer but it is not my libation of first choice. American Bourbon and Polish wodka are the ticket for me!
