I ran across the following graphic representing faith around the world, and wondered what lie behind the ranking and structure. It seems a legitimate academic exercise, coming from the University of Michigan.
Poland and the US lie just below centerline, the US to the right and Poland to the left ... both reflecting traditionalist values; Poland tending toward 'survival' and the US toward 'self expression', whatever that means.
The Economist has a four page report at

which ranks countries according to Life Satisfaction and explains some of the methodology used. Poland ranks 48, out of 101 countries listed.
While searching for that I also encountered a writ-up contending that wealth DOES buy happiness. Read about it at
