Jaga, it's too easy to look it up. Is it Nowa Ziemia or something like that? I'm not good at remebering the names of Siberian islands, I'm afraid. :-)

I was in thought if perhaps you are refering to the Russian Sakhalin?

I was in thought if perhaps you are refering to the Russian Sakhalin? Charles Hello Charles, thanks for trying. Sachalin is one of the very Eastern points in Asia, not in Europe. Have you ever been there? I remember in the past whenever I asked my brother to ask me something related to natural sciences to check whether I am prepared to school he asked me about Sachalin So eventually I knew a lot about this small island so far away from us!

I remember in the past whenever I asked my brother to ask me something related to natural sciences to check whether I am prepared to school he asked me about Sachalin So eventually I knew a lot about this small island so far away from us! Unfortunately Jaga, I have not the opportunity to have visited there. Also, I do know better then have to mentioned that of the Sakhalin for it is in the Sea of Okhotsk and you are very correct.... So your brother would quiz you! I would wonder if he was at that time studying botany, fisheries or geology for the place is both very rich in minerals/oil/wild life. I think it was just a year or two past that the Russians booted of Shell from their oil exploration. Not sure if this was in conjunction with some demostration activities of the nationals{people} living there. Charles

OK, I didn't look it up and I was baffled by the idea - and of course, I feel I know more than the average person about geography! The eastern border of Europe is along the Ural mountains, but .... that is a vague idea to me. So now you have given me the northern anchor of the limits of Europe.
Of course, this fits in quite well with accurately placing Poland in Central Europe instead of Eastern Europe as we got accustomed to doing during the Cold War. The center of Europe that I like (and there are many to choose from) is 25 km North of Vilnius, Lithuania.
That was a good quiz.
