I am so excited that google has some soccer (or rather football) in their google signs.
Poles are present during olympic games even if our team is gone. There are two Poles in German team: Miroslaw Close and Podolsky

Did you guys had a chance to watch a game between Germany and Ghana? Ghana was so fast but thanks to Miroslaw Close Germany tied. Here is more:
Before introducing Klose midway through the second period as a response to Asamoah Gyan putting Ghana ahead (and thereby tying Roger Milla’s record as the record scorer from Africa), Low had run the full gambit of systems.
Close is equal to Ronaldo in number of goals during world cup!
Name Goals Ronaldo 15 Miroslav Klose 15 Gerd Muller 14 Just Fontaine 13 Pele 12 Sandor Kocsis 11 Jurgen Klinsmann 11 Helmut Rahn 10 Gary Lineker 10 Gabriel Batistuta 10
Germany first tried a 4-2-3-1 but promptly switched to 4-4-2 to mirror its opponents. Having found both ineffective, at halftime there was a further reshuffle to 4-3-3, but though it was Mario Gotze who put Germany into the lead with what might kindly be called a header, it was Klose’s instinct that would prove telling at the death.
Perhaps the greatest surprise about his 22-minute cameo was that he wasted an opportunity to win the match with 60 seconds remaining.
Certainly, one of the favorites for the World Cup were pushed hard by the side which finished 2010 as a sore quarterfinal loser in South Africa.
Prior to the game, Ghana, which would be vocally backed by the vast majority of neutrals, had promised to go out to leave everything on the field, and in this regard it certainly did not disappoint, with Sulley Muntari, Andre Ayew and, in the second half, Gyan ebullient.
For Germany, struggling in its second World Cup match is nothing new, however unwelcome. Only once since the reunification of the country has it won its second game in the World Cup.
Now Germany faces the familiar task of earning a positive result in its final match against the USA, though with Klose in tow, there is always the likelihood of a goal.

Karl,
you should be proud of Germany. They did a good job today! The US advanced also, I am happy for them since they are the underdog.

Karl, you should be proud of Germany. They did a good job today! The US advanced also, I am happy for them since they are the underdog. Thank you most kindly Jaga, I was able to catch bits and pieces only. What I was able to catch was a hard try by the American team and they played well. The American team although closely lost, they needless to say, deserve a great amount of credit for their team spirit and hard driving. The following you know, just simply a show and tell of how hard fought the game was. World Cup 2014: Germany Defeats United States, 1-0 By JEFF Z. KLEIN JUNE 25, 2014 The United States lost to Germany in rainy Recife but advanced to the World Cup’s knockout phase anyway. Thomas Müller’s goal in the 55th minute gave the Germans a 1-0 victory, but that result, coupled with Portugal’s 2-1 win over Ghana, left the Americans in second place with a 1-1-1 record in Group G, the so-called Group of Death. That is good enough for Team USA to qualify for the round of 16, where they will probably meet Belgium.“It’s huge for us, getting out of this group,” Coach Jurgen Klinsmann said. “Everybody said you have no chance. We took that chance, and we move on and now we really want to prove a point.” “Today was a tough game, tough conditions,” goalkeeper Tim Howard said. “Hats off to Germany. I think they have a chance to win the World Cup -- that’s how good I think they are. But we get to the round of 16. It shows how far we’ve come that we’re not happy, that we want to progress.”The heavy-legged Americans rarely tested Germany, who finished with 68 percent ball possession for the match and 7 points as champions of the group. The Germans especially dominated the early minutes with almost total possession and several forays into Howard’s penalty area. Their goal came after a corner kick resulted in a header from Per Mertesacker that Howard did well to punch away. The rebound carried to the edge of the area, where Müller was waiting. He drove the ball hard along the grass and true – no chance for Howard to stop it.There were nervous moments for the Americans when news came in from Brasilia that Ghana had tied Portugal, 1-1. A Ghana victory by two goals would have eliminated the U.S. But Cristiano Ronaldo’s late goal for Portugal took the pressure off for the final dozen minutes or so. Germany finished first in the group with two wins and a draw. The German players and the American players strolled around the field aver the match, exchanging applause with their fans as they all celebrated advancement to the next phase of the tournament.“In the end, we did enough to get through,” forward Clint Dempsey said. “We always believed we could get out of this group if we played well.” Karl

I hope that the Germans would do better than the last time. There was apparently a conflict between the players of Bayern and Borussia the last time. The stadium was definitively wet. I remember the game between Germany and Poland about 40 years ago when the stadium was wet also (iin Bavaria) and Germans won. +++ But Cristiano Ronaldo’s late goal for Portugal took the pressure off for the final dozen minutes or so.+++ yes, Ronaldo was great as always

I wonder who will win the world cup this year! To my surprise the Dutch are coming very far, winning game afer game. Germany has always had good national teams. But it is hard to beat the South-American/latin-American soccer teams and from the Southern-Europeans. The Brasilians, Argentinians, Mexicans, Spanish, Portugese and Italian teams have always been very good. Northern-European teams often have a strong team (collective), while latin or Romanesque (latin-European) teams have strong solists (individuals). It is sad that Poland doesn't participate in this Global soccer competition. Okay two of them are part of the German team, but that means that they are 'Germans' in German shirts.
There are a lot of good teams in this game and so it is not easy for any team to win. The Dutch trainer van Gaal is modest. It is good that we win he says, but we can not become lazy, self obsessed or arrogant. Every game is a battle, and the other teams are very good. I wonder how we (Orange) will play against the Mexicans. Which teams do the Poles support? The Germans due to the Polish players in the German team?
