and also our little ones: Robert and Ela. Robert is the same size like Ela although he is just 5 years old. It was so nice that Suzanne found some time to spend with us! here are pictures from the airport: and I really do not know why I felt that I should bend my head so much

Jaga,
The "Park of Commons" is actually known as Boston Common. Commons are a particularly New England phenomenon. Instead of being built around "squares" or marketplaces as European cities and towns were, the early settlers of New England built their towns around "commons" which were open, grassy spaces where any resident could graze their cows. The areas were specifically reserved for that purpose. You will find a common in the center of just about any New England town, Boston's is just super-sized! (And once a year they do have a dairy festival there when they actually do graze cows!)

In Krakow we have a huge meadow in the middle of the town also. This was the place where Pope had a service just like in Boston commons (sorry for twisting the name). I still remember cows being there (in this big meadow in Krakow) when I was a child.

Jaga,
I can't say I ever remember seeing cows on Boston Common when I was little, but every December my father would take us there in the evening to see the Christmas lights which were absolutely everywhere on the common and very beautiful!

I'm back from vacation now, and Jaga, thanks for posting these. It was fun meeting you and Ela (hope she's feeling better now, by the way). Robert had a lot of fun too and has periodically asked when you're coming back He has also been bugging me to take him on one of the Duck Boats We will have to do that before they shut down for the winter.

Nice pictures. Suzanne is so young and Ela appears shy next to Robert. How cute. ;D Well unfortunately I'm no longer as young as I look (but I'm old enough that having this "baby face" doesn't bother me anymore! ). And actually Ela wasn't shy at all: she's very charming and helped keep Robert in line, reminding him to look both ways before crossing the street, etc. ;D

Suzanne,
thanks for being back with us. I hope that your vacations were good! Ela did not miss any day at school but she has a hard time to adjust to school discipline, it takes her forever to do the homework! She either caught a cold or had a persistent allergy after coming back. During the day is OK but when she sleeps, she had problems breathing, not terrible, but it worries me since her noce is stuffed. I hope that this allergy/cold will go away soon. Maybe this is the effect of the adjustment from humid Boston climate to dry Idaho?
Ducks trips are really a fun and we had a great driver-tour guide who even let kids to drive the bus, you can see it on another picture in another Boston thread.
