What a wonderful inventory of such priceless air machines, parts and powerplants. The air machines that are the BF-109 are as depicted, post war Spanish built. For as the original Daimler motor supply was fairly much depleted in war use, the Spanish manufacturer was forced to use British powerplants. These were upright design whilst the Daimler was an inverted design. Both were excellent powerplants but diverse in fuel feed with the Daimler using the fuel injection design whilst the British design was carburettor.
The above by design needs, the Spanish build required with use of the upright motor, required a different thrust line being at the top most of the nose. This in self changed the centre thrust line of the airframe, whilst the inverted motor design of the Daimler with the inverted design as original, was the neutral center thrust to the airframe.
Some basics of why the Bf 109 was excellent for the time, was the use of a very light airframe married to the high power of the powerplant. This with the use of magnesium in the lower portion of the fuselage root basing the main wing spars. BF stands for: Bayerisch flugzeugwerk Bavaria
For as the geared propeller hub, the blast tube allowed between cylinder bank cannon use with centre line recoil absorbed by the airframe with out recoil deviation in aircraft control.
