Favorite car of Putin - showed to Bush

Pres. Bush is in st.Petersburg to meet with the big 8 (+ Eric, since he is in St.Petersurg also )

during their first day Putin showed Bush his favorite Zaporozec:

I think he's been walking through piles of BS since he's been there and didn't get it all off his shoes. ;D

the shoes do not go with the suit, but at least he is not wearing a brown suit.

today I saw a news pic of them in a micro car. looked like a golf cart. try driving one of those on our highways and you would be creamed in no time. (and please, no jokes about Boston, what is happening here is the worst scenario of politics intersecting with public safety that any of us have ever experienced).

Putin is actually very proud of his 1972 Zaporozhets. I saw it on the Russian news on TV when Putin showed Bush his very first car. Bush was actually impressed, and he enjoyed seeing it. Putin also has a 1956 Volga which Bush enjoyed a couple of years ago... I think Bush even tried driving it!

P.S. - I have never seen such a clean car in all of Russia before.

P.P.S. - Did you notice that Putin's car has Leningrad registration... yet the license plate was printed after the end of the USSR, but still looking in the pre-1980s style?
