Jaga Fortunately I have been there otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue. They are known as the 'Fairy Chimneys' in Cappadocia, Turkey. Wonderful 'fairy' shapes produced by wind and rain erosion; unfortunately this erosion is going on all the time and in time they will be worn away and lose their enchantment. I'm so pleased they still have this formation when I saw them. Leslie

Leslie,
somehow I thought that you would know it again. The early Christians built their temples and houses there also. You can see - some of these cones look almost like they are inhabited.
I hope that these shapes would not erode away before I will be able to see it!
