We have a scammer on line. You are very correct, this same irritating person. This will have to be attended to by either or both, Jaga or Kai or Eric. For they hold the keys of removing this person. Karl

It is great I opened this thread without seeing the spammer. Great work Jaga! You see what happens when a Forum is not maintained and administrated. I saw it at Bo's Forum where spammers found a free playground. I couldn't remove them, neither could Jeanne. So we filed complaint after complaint, report after report!

Karl and Pieter,
I still wish they did not delete Bonobo's forum. I wish somebody else had moderator's privileges, so that the forum could be functionable

That feeling is mutual Jaga. I wish we could have maintained that Forum. But I had not even the privilege to remove spam on that Forum. I enjoyed the Forum until it was gone. I am sorry for Jeanne too. Who has put so much effort in that Forum and was a regular contributor. I know that she is sadenned by the disappearance of that great Forum.
If I had time I would start my own blog, Forum or website, but I haven't.

Pieter, sometimes too much is too much. We have so many different discussion groups, that splitting into more would make us weaker. Do you remember Carl? He created so many different groups on Delphi and then he was inviting us.... it was too virtual..... We need to streamline sometimes instead of being tempted of doing more and more The power is in unity

Jaga, I wish I could be a combination or merger of the Polish gentlemen Bonobo, Tufta, Pawian and Bunjo who learned me so incredibly much about Poland. In all aspects. You for me are part of that Polish team of informers, and translators of Polish theme's into English for the non-Polish speakers of the Polish diaspora and non-Poles from the USA and Europe with a keen interest in Poland, Polish culture and history. All those layers of Polishness they and you provided me (and other with), an incredible job. Some people who can't travel to Poland due to financial, health or other reasons can enjoy Poland in their imagination due to your stories, travel reports, short biographies, Polish news and etc. For Jeanne, me and others Bo's Forum was incredibly important due to the incredible amount (quantity) and quality (in that quantity) of images about Poland, of Poland. We learnt about Polish Roman Catholic traditions, services, processions, church culture, Polish Peoples (Folk) culture, Polish rural life, Polish cities and towns, Polish architecture, infrastructure (Bo's images of roads and highways), Polish education (Bo's wonderful images of his pupils and students in their school buildings during their school activities or school trips), the time of the Polish peoples republic, products of the Polish Peoples republic, and about his own opinions. He took so much serious effort in personal, sincere and indepth replies to threads and postings of others. And his replies had quality, humor and content too. I enjoyed reading Bo's, Tufta's, Jeanne's and Mike's (Valompike) discussions like I enjoy the exchange and discussions between Forum members over here. I have learned a great deal from your Polish culture webiste ' www.polishsite.us/ '. It is unfortunately that you are hindered by these Farsi (Persian/Iranian) parasites, who hijacked pages of your website. And the combination of this Forum and Bo's Forum have enriched my life and deepened or broadened my horizon and knowledge of Poland. I do aggree with you that the power is unity! Cheers, Pieter

Pieter, I agree that they had a very interesting way of discussing Poland, Bonobo's pictures were amazing. I wish he could share more in our forum instead of creating his own. If I'd start my website now, I would make it more interesting, more sense of humor.... times are changing so fast! Or maybe we are getting just old....

Jaga Just a comment to add to yours and Pieters discussion with a personal note for you. I do not believe enough credit has been provided to you for your work. For your creation of this forum was a very courages endeavor that to many would have been over whelming to say the least. For through your efferts, a great volume of information of Poland and related aspects of Europe has been brought into the lives of not only forum members, but countless visitors. It would be difficult to measure the effects you have made upon the lives of others and enrichment of their joy of discovery for what they are seeking. Yes Jaga, you have made your mark of a valuable contribution to those you have touched with your forum. Thank you for what you do, and thank you for being my friend. Karl

Dear friends,
I couldn't agree more with Karl's reply and important statement. I agree 300% with his statement and opinion! The amount of energy, dedication, wisdom, ballance, valuable content, historical, present day and thus Polish information and knowledge (in the sense of encyclopedia, personal and investigated and gathered information), adminstration, moderation, selection (removing irritating spammers and unwelcome guests), discussion mediation and guiding (in a postive way), encouriging people to participate and just work on this Forum and the website connected to it (I mentioned it here above) is incredible.
The same thing I want to say about Bo and Tufta for the parallel Polish Culture Forum. I agree with Jaga entirely that it is sad that the effort and content of Bo and Tufta would have well fit on this Forum and that they should not have part this Forum and start a seperate one. Imagine the quality, quantity and phantastic content and images of both Forum combined in one united Forum. But that wasn't maybe possible due to different characters, personalities, desires, opinions, cultures, and focusses of the websites.
This Forum is more broad than Bo's Forum was, but the great thing about Bo's Forum was it's soul dedication to Poland, Polish culture and Polish history. That single issue character was it strength and probably it's weakness. Maybe on the other side the broadness and pluriformity of this Forum has a weakness too. People who want a Polish culture Forum with Polish topics only from a Polish Patriotic, Polish democratic, Polish socialist, Polish conservative, Polish Roman-Catholic, Polish liberal, Polish diaspora or Polish nationalist perspective are not at the right adress here.
I love the fact that Jaga is open minded, critical, intellectual (due to her parental Ckrakovian university scientific milieu she was brought up in), and very well read, well informed and stil connected to Poland due to her Polish diaspora activities, her travels back to Poland, her contact with her Polish family and her contacts with Polish-Americans and Polish Poles.
I have to admid that my Polish American cousins from Chicago and Milwaukee are much more connected to Poland and rooted in Polish culture than I am. They had two Polish parents who immigrated as 'Polish Poles' (like Bunjo, Adam, Bo, Tufta, Tomek and Gigi) to the USA. Their parents spoke Polish at home, had a Polish culture at home, a Polish cuisine, Polish proze and poetry, and they had Polish grandparents (they are older then me, so they had the chance to have longer ties with our Polish grandparents in Poznan), Polish aunts and uncles, Polish cousins, nephews and nieces, and Polish friends of their parents. Due to the large Polish diaspora in the Milkwaukee and Chicago area's they also had Polish contacts and connections in the USA. Old Polish diaspora and fresh newly arrived Polish emigré's who brought new fresh Polish elements and influences to the USA. A lot of them kept their specific Polish culture, mentality and community life. I remember that my 'Polish mother' said she visited her sister in Chicago and that during a family reunion diner in a restaurant she tried to talk English to the waiter. The waiter said to her, you don't need to speak English in fluent Polish. He served her in Polish. It was a Polish American restaurant. It is great that Polish culture, language, heritage, history and traditions are maintained in the USA in the area's with larger Polish communities like Chicago, Detroit and New York (where there exists a Polish neighborhood with 60 thousand Poles, with Polish shops, restaurants, pubs, clubs and churches. A sort of Polish version of Chia town or Little Italy, or the Russian enclave 'Brighton Beach'.
A Polish young man from Germany who was bussy with Polish diaspora worldwide, said once to me; "The Polish diaspora could learn something from the Jewish Daispoira. Their organisation, sense of community, solidarity as a group -jews always help other jews-, wealth, culture, Political organization (Lobby groups) and educational and financial succes." In only partly agree with him. The Polish-Americans are very succesful. A weak point of the Poles is that they are very individualistic, disagree a lot with eachother, are often stubborn (my mothers words) and lack unity. The funny thing is that you could say the same thing about Polish jews in particular and jews in general. But this is not about jews, judaism or Polish jews. I am actually talking about Poland and the Roman-Catholic majority. The group most of us are connected to.
I think that the spirit, energy, dedication, qualtiy, humor, culture, information and knowledge of Bononobo´s Forum could be revived, injected, introduced (or re-introduced) and implimented over here. We could and should take more effort to post threads about Poland today, Poles, Polish Roman-Catholic issues, Polish Judiasm, the German minority in Poland, Polish cuisine, Polish fashion, the Polish economy, Polish education, Polish science, Polish cities, Polish nature and Polish traditions, customs, Polish news, Polish politics, Polish foreign affairs (diplomacy), the Polish NATO and EU membership, Polish cukture, Polish contemporary art (fine art), Polish cinema, Polish photography, Poliush theatre, Polish music, Poliush proze and poetry (literature) over here. Let's merge the qualities of Jaga, Bo, Tufta, Bunjo, Adam, Jeanne, Karl, Kaima, John, Nicetoe, Gardenmona, Ludwik, Eric and me over here.
Cheers, Pieter
