My father was great mushroom expert. He would even tell you that some of these mushrooms can be edible!

Chris (Rdy...) Are you sure these are grzby and not what we call fungus (same word in Polish I think) - the latter contain toadstools of which many are deadly poisonous. You seem to have missed Charles off as addressee?! ;D (Charles - English joke!) Leslie

Jim,
What are the names and genus (if available) of the mushrooms you are picking?
I do not remember the names my parents called them.

John,
We picked prawdziwki, podgrzybki, maslaki, zajace and kurki. I don't know the English or Biological names. And now we are picking another kind and I don't remember the name. They only grow this time of the year.

They only grow this time of the year. Jim what abour rydze and pieczarki? I think they are hard to find nowadays although they have a delicious taste. Pieczarki (chamignons) are usually cultivated. This is one of the few types of mushrooms easy to cultivate even here in the US
