Pieter, Karl, yes, this is a remarkable photo. She looks like a beautiful and calm statue. I still think that the AFrican Americans, especially men, have some work to do - showing selective outrage but not trying to improve anything in their own community, not being good fathers, is not helpful. These 5 officers did not need to be killed.

There is a difference between Black men and women for sure, both in America and Africa, but also in Europe. Black women are often strong, struggling and independent women, because they have to be strong as mothers, grandmothers, older sisters -who take care of their little brothers and sisters in one parent families-, and as police officers, nurses, secretaries, waitresses, workers, businesswomen, and also politicians and activists.
But in the same time black men are the most endangered human being in the USA. A Black boy, young man or adult has a large chance to be harassed, wounded or killed by the police, other black men or white racist idiots in Southern states (the KKK, Aryan Nation, Biker gangs and other white suprematists). Unfortunately a lot of black men die due to the violence of other black men. Drive by shootings in large black neighborhoods, robberies, random attacks on the streets, other kind of confrontations and etc. That is a reality you don't hear much nowadays.
But is is a fact that it is very sad, sickening and highly unethical that innocent black men fell victim to police brutality, because they are black and different. The cases of Alton Sterling, 37, who died of gunshot wounds to the chest and back in Baton Rouge, in Louisiana; and the police murder of Philando Castile in St Paul in Minnesota are absolutely unacceptable.
Also the deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Walter Scott, and Freddie Gray are - some claim - evidence of long-standing problems with police racism and excessive violence.
In understand the fear of Black parents, fathers and mothers, wives and girlfriends of black men and boys, and even black grandparents for their grandchildren. A Dutch black musician explained how she and her black American boyfriend lived in Los Angeles. They were well to do, upper middle class people, who drive fency cars. She told the people in the Dutch news show how careful, decent, polite, correct, sensible and wary her black partner was. He didn't drink alcohol at parties, did not get engaged in any illegal things, had a decent job in the entertainment and music industries, yet he was stopped and body searched by Los Angeles police dozens of times. Every time he is stopped he is very quiet, obedient, law abiding, decent, polite and a well behaving chap. This humiliation is part of his life as a black man living in the West coast of the USA, the so called liberal West-coast.
Black children, boys, young men and adults are used to it. The sad thing is that they receive the same treatment by Black and Latino cops, who aren't white. They are the same as the white cops. Black cops also abuse black citizens, beat them, wound them and sometimes even kill them. Some of them have internalized racism inside themselves. They want to show how tought they can be as black cops towards black boys and men. Although it is ofcourse a tiny minority of the cops, it is still a problem and a ticking time bomb that you have abusing, sadistic and murderous cops amongst the majority of decent, well behaving and correct cops. And again I want to say it is not exclusivly a black and white problem. But ofcourse you don't hear that in the news today.
I do believe that these cops who are bad and kill innocent people should be disciplined, punished and brought to justice. And in all cases of abuse. Also if they treat latino people, white people and asian people incorrectly. Any xenophobia, racism, polonofobia, anti-semitism, hatred of blacks and hatred of whites and hatred of Asians is unaccaptble. We are all human beings with a soul, heart, mind, spirit, family and a link to God who created us. Don't take a life without reason.
Cheers, Pieter

Dear friends,
I have a dream, a sincere wish and a humanist vision. That the USA as a country, state, nation, civilization and place of the People of America, the Americans can grow, develop and prosper in the 21 th century. It could be century of American civilization, culture and science for the American people themselves. One of the elemets of that civilization would be to overcome the racial divide, polarization, and the discrimination, humiliation and mocking of minority groups and vulnerable people. America can still grow as a christian nation with jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, agnostic and atheist and pagan minorities. The USA could develop a great culture if it would embrace it's 'Black Renaissance', 'Black achievements', 'Young Black People', 'Black Musical Culture', 'Black entrepreneurs' and etc. next to White and Latino achievements, people, music, culture and scientific achievements. The aim would be to create one united culture of the American people, in which every American is equal, proud to be an American, Patriotic, because America is great.
Ofcourse there are differences due to historical, cultural, social-economical, financial and political positions and developments in the past. White people, black people and latino people aren't equal, because the whites form the majority, the blacks the largest minority and the latino the third group. It isn't easy to be latino or hispanic in the USA either, because you will experience and feel the anglo-saxon (English speaking) whites and blacks who reject the Spanish language and latino culture. Asians also feel prejudices, stereotypes and mocking towards them. Arabs, Persians, Turks and other Muslim minorities will feel as an alien Muslim people, because they live in a majority christian culture, which doesn't understand them and sometimes fears, reject and attacks them (the fanatic christians and anti-Muslim atheists).
History has a cyclic development, an cultural conjuncture, civilizations rise and civilizations fall into decline. Often in great civilizations cultures met and communicated with eachother, in civilizations and ancient empires various peoples lived or settled in the Roman and Greek cities. In Moorish Spain Muslim scholars worked side by side with Jewish and Christian scientists, and via the Moores ancient Mathematical texst and scripts were translated in Latin from Arabic. The Arab scholars had token the knowledge from the Greek scientists and merchants from Alexandria in Egypt and ancient Israel.
The USA is very different in the case of race relations than Europe. The USA has longer experience with black and white people who live in eachothers environment, in the same city in the same rural lands in the country side. The poor whites of the South lived next to the black slaves and later the freed slaves, now citizens, but not equal. Ethnic and racial and cultural tensions existed in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Not only blacks were rejected or seen as second class citizens. Als the native Americans and new migrants from Europe, who came from different parts of Europe, which weren't Protestant, Anglo-Saxon and West-Germanic and Celtic like the English, Welsh and Scottish people of the United Kingdom. Remember the discrimination of Slavic, Eastern-European jewish and Italian migrants, because they were Roman-Catholic, Eastern-Orthodox or Jewish. Latin people are looked down upon by White and Black Americans who are irritated that they speak Spanish instaid of English amongst eachother. Rivalry exists between black and latino gangs in larger American cities. Ofcourse there are succesful Latin-American Americans too, who managed to learn English and who have become respected Americans like two of the main Republican candidates.
Back to the subject. I really believe that America can develop itself further in this century. American culture will see progress, since education, science, financial-economical, sportive and cultural achievements continue. The American culture in time will become more refined, Polished, sophisticated, and multi-layered, because the pluriform society will continue to exist. America has a pluriform character with a lot of diversity in cultures. Ofcourse the main American culture is dominated by the new Pan-American European culture, with some black and latino elements. In the 21th century more traditions will be add to that. The native American, Japanese American, Chinese American, Vietnamese American, Korean American, Iranian American, Arab American and African culture from Africa will merge into the American culture. American culture is a christian culture, but a different culture than the older European christian culture which is more than 1.000 years old. The American culture will florish in the 21th century and it will be inlfuenced and injected by many world cultures, by the cultural luggage new immigrants wikll bring to the country in the 21th century.
Cheers, Pieter

In the Netherlands you can have a problem like this, in which a Afro-Surinamese man and a Moroccan guy help white native Dutch people in impoverished Dutch working class neighborhoods in cases that people have a disagreement or a neighbor quarrel.
This another Dutch program, with the Arab Lebanese Danny who researches problems in Dutch neighborhoods. This episode is about the hard drugs problems in the Dutch border region towns. The local Low Saxon Dutch civilians suffer from the Hard Drugs dealers who terrorise the
In the whole border region there are problems with border drugs traffic. Due to the more liberal drugs policies of the Netherlands the border regions attract German, Belgian, French, Polish and Czech Drugsrunners, junkies (people with a drugs addiction) and others. Often the dealers are Dutch and the junkies or users foreign. The Dutch populations of these towns, cities and sometimes villages get crazy from this open drugsdealing, using and intimidation. Parents fear for their kids safety because heroin needles, cocaine silver foil, brown drugs bowls, speed and GMBH pills and ext. The small rural police force is afraid and can't do much against this aggressive hard drugs scene. Danny examines the situation, confronts drugs dealers and users and faces the aggression and threats of these drugsdealers and drugs users (junkies).

The Dutch police is chasing a German car. Finally the car makes it to the German border. In Germany the car chase is going on. The German police is trying to help the Dutch police to stop this car. Dutch police often chases criminals over the border into Germany and Belgium.
While the German car is surrounded by German police cars of German colleages their Dutch colleage interogates the German in German (with a Dutch accent) in Germany. This is an example of the excellent cooperation between Dutch and German cops!

And here you see a coordinated Dutch-Belgian police action in the border region. left a Dutch police car and right the Belgian police cars.
The Belgian police chased criminals into the Netherlands, and their Dutch colleages set up a trap to assist the Belgian colleages. This was not a soft landing for the criminals.
After a bomb to open a money machine at a bank, criminals shots at the Dutch Police with Kalashnikov's. The heavy criminals were chased into Belgium where a special Belgian police forces ended their escape and managed to capture them. Heavy international crime syndicates are active in the Netherlands and Belgium and often operate in border regions.

Pieter, this guy was really speeding up and needed to be stopped. He was dangerous and intimidating to other drives. Glad that Dutch and German police cooperated. Jaga, Unfortunately this often happens in our densly populated, crowded, North-Western corner of Europe. Sometimes it seems like people are crazy and don't care about speed limits (the money they will have to pay, because they are registered by camera's and speed limit machines along the highways and roads) and just drive like maniacs. I often see in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, but certainly in Belgium, France and Italy that people drive like idiots (maniacs). Fast, faster, fast. Europeans like to drive fast and cross the speed limits. But the price can be heavy fines, confiscated driving licences and in cases of extreme speed plus alcohol or drugs the confiscation of cars. Accidents in small narrow roads, country roads, and thus inside villages, towns and cities happend when fast drivers, drunk drivers or careless drivers kill children, elderly people, school kids, students or just pedestrians or cyclists on roads. I believe the European highways or roads sometimes must look like anarchistic chaos for Americans, who are disciplined drivers and have strict speed limits. Cheers, Pieter

I do agree with whole heartily with some very crazy drivers that are on our road ways. It is always a good idea to follow the traffic laws of staying to the right lanes, for some are simply travelling beyond the mindset of reason. Generally if to observe an Italian number plate behind me, to watch out for many seem to treat a Fiat as if it was a Ferrrari. If an Eastern state number plate, simply watch out for the unexpected for some times they seem to confuse a left blinker for a right turn.
In the matter of extreme traffic situations involving a respective Police hot pursuit that involves the perpetrator crossing the border into another state. The respective police are covered with extra powers pertaining to the Plüm Treaty with artica 18. This is a seven nation pact between: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, The Netherlands and Spain operating out side of the EU frame work:
As stated:
Article 18 of the Prüm Treaty specifically approves that "in urgent situations, officers from one member state, without the other member states's prior consent, cross the border between the two so that...they can take any provisional measures necessary to avert immediate danger to life or limb

Here a Dutch idiot who drivers extremely dangerous and faces the consequences. This is an example of some European idiots who drive like crazy and don't respect the law, fellow human beings and the police.
The man uses extremely abusive language towards the police officer during his arrest. Because he deliberately crashed into a police car and attacked the police with a baseball bat and fought with the police he was arrested with force.
Extremely dangerous nut
Drugsrunner in a BMW drives from the Netherlands to Belgium. The Dutch police had to stop, but they had the number plate of the car and informed their Belgian colleages
Police officers always have to ballance between the safety of civilians on the road and their own safety and the capture of a traffic offender.
The combination of drugs, alcohol and a changed personality and mind of a person due to these circumstances can make a person in a car and life threatening probable mudere machine. The police has to act in such cases to avoid very serious traffic accidents with multiple vehicles. In this case the Dutch police used the combined power of a police helicopter, several police patrol cars and the control room who communicates the image and thus info and knowledge of the police helicopter and various car. One police officer who passed the car saw the look of the driver, and said he had looked the driver in the eyes, he said that the man looked totally weird and nuts. He drives with the speed of 210 km per hour (130 miles per hour), provoked the police with a middle finger our of the window. The police use full force with as much police car they can use. Stopping the man is high priority, they have to stop him before a large accident can happen on the bussy highway.

The Dutch Police is chasing a Porsche, Finally the Porsche driver calls his mate, he drives in a gray Volkwagen Golf (02:05) The two drivers changes the cars and the Dutch Police chases now a Porsche and a Volkswagen Golf.
Here you see the cops go to a car accident with their equipment and go to a mother and child and manage to calm them and take two toys for the kids. They monitor the situation and see what is needed. In this case it were two teddybears of the bother and sister. Their mom is shaken and teary. The nice police man asks the boy if he is okay? The Boy says crying: "Yeah, it is a very stupid day for me."
Police motorcyclists regulate traffic and help an ambulance in the very bussy traffic of Rotterdam
The police had to accompany this ambulance for whatever reason?
In this case the police accompanies a just born baby in an ambulance. This is a vulnerable transport from one hospital in a smaller city to another hospital in a larger city From the Alrijne hospital in Leiden to the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. They have to control the traffic and that is difficult and sometimes dangerous in a bussy larger Dutch city.

Where ever cops do their job, in the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Denmark and the USA, their job is a very responsible, human (social) and life saving job. Sometimes the judgement and action of a police officer can save lives if he has to stop a car, a person on the street or in a building or a group of people together with colleages.
