Dear J.J.
Let us just stay with 3.14, for in opposite of others, my self was never very bright in math, just only what was necessary. But then, the pie looks very delicious but the pie may give some indigestion if taken so far as indicated.

You are killing me.....Ok- it should/would be with standard rounding as: 1.77 or if desired, 1.77245385091, I think though, this is in the front yard of Jaga as she is the math whizz. My self,, just a simple displaced pelican civil servant. Karl

J.J. I understand your consternation with conversion of the Sumerian text. This was done some many years past in translation. The recipe is in the manner of the Hymn to Ninkasi, the following url is a bit long, but includant with the text, is the Hymn to Ninkasi at the bottom of text. www.arachnyd.com/david/SumerianBeer.htmlWhat is left out, is the manner of the actual drinking mugs, for they were made from fired clay and always had molded in, fine filtering bars. This was to filter out barley husks, for the beer was considered not just a alcohol drink, but a food. The barley available at that time, was a type of wild barley with heavy husks that was difficult to remove in bulk. read through the Hymn to Ninkasi with understanding, it then becomes more clear as the beer recipe. Then with modern available ingredients, the beer should brew up as intended. What you may not be able to change, is the heat and humidity of that place in time to your area of climate. Karl

John, Karl,
there is also a pie day on 2-14. We celebrate this day in Math Tutoring Center each year!
Is it true that this Sumerian text is really a beer and the scientists were able to decipher it? Amazing... Did you try it?
I am not completely surprised since drinking beer was healthier than water in the past.
