Ok ok i cheat on this but i havent gotten round to making homemade pierogi yet i use the frozen kind and when i come to drain them off they look rather flatten and have burst open or stuck to pan suggestions If they burst open too easily, something`s wrong with the dough coverage. It might be too weak or thin. If they stick to the pan while frying, they are probably still too wet. You need to dry them thoroughly. If they stick to the bottom of the pan while boiling, you need to put them into boiling water and then stir the pool delicately for some time until the outer layer of dough becomes hardened by heat.

Tele...don't think you might be doing anything wrong. Soemtimes its the vendor of the product. They will never be like homemade unless they are homemade and frozen kind. I have had similar problems with such. Do they carry Mrs. T's over in the UK. That is a good one. Just make sure you are throwing them into boiling water and only cook them till dough is done. Over cooking will make that happen also.

When I buy pierogi, I always first cook them, then sometimes when they are cold I fried them. But I did not have any problems with leaking or opening on the corners.
Good luck!
