The last total eclipse that traversed from coast to coast in the USA was in 1776.
Does that date ring a bell with anyone?

The year of the American Revolution, the United States Declaration of Independence, that an angry mob in New York City topples the equestrian statue of George III of Great Britain in Bowling Green on July 9.

We had a beautiful eclipse today. It was the experience of the lifetime. I posted pictures of the eclipe on my facebook. John, I still don;t believe that the eclipses change the events of the history, and we will have a next one in 7 years, although it would not be from coast to coast.

I don't believe that an eclipse foretells a change in history but it does bring up an interesting coincidence. The next one in 2024 will give us in NH a complete eclipse.

John, I hope both of us would have a chance to watch the eclipse in 2024! By the way, some of my friends in Poland sent me messages with apocalyptic visions of the eclipse that just happened. Too sad that people believe it.
