No...too busy I will try to make some for Easter. I just found my copy of my mother's recipe; need to check and see if it is any different from those on the site. Doubt that it is, though.

Well, we use bourbon in ours... not a terribly common recipe, but it's how Busia made 'em! Jaga, So did you use oil, or Lard!

OMG - I was just talking to my mom this morning (Mothers Day) and we are having the Chrusciki cook-off next Saturday and we were discussing ingredients. I FOUND OUT WHAT I WAS DOING WRONG!!! Somehow, on my recipe, I have "condensed Milk", when it should have been evaporated milk! No wonder I couldn't get the right consistency!!!!! I gotta feeling this new batch will really be good!!!! Wow... what a silly mistake. ;D

Ok.. countdown is on for the remedial Chrusciki class: This coming Saturday morning. I picked up the farm fresh "free range" eggs yesterday, and they will have my pound of fresh LARD from the pig farmer tonight after work. Man, if only they had cows (they do have goats) I could get real fresh milk and butter as well Tell me Busia would have had it any fresher!!! Going to use the same dough, only some fried in Crisco, and some in Lard. I'll let you know the results from a "cookability" standpoint, appearance and taste.
