Guys, you would not believe but the new store was opened here in Idaho Falls. It is run by a Russian lady and I can buy Polish sausages, cheese and candies there! We have been there on Saturday and we also bought a piece of HALVA. Do you know halva? In Polish we call it "chalwa". Do you enjoy it? I always thought that halva is Russian by origin but this article in Wikipedia states that halva is popular in several different places: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halva

Jaga I believe I have had it only it is pronounced as hal a var and I always thought of it as Jewish. Usually at Jewish holidays it is put out for sale and in the Kosher aisle. I have Kona coffee in my grocery store (Wegmans is a very innovative store if you ever read up on them. we are lucky to have it here and it is started here but now branched out to PA and Buffalo and Syracuse areas) I also found Guava and Mango Nectar which I just bought at 57Cents a can. Was expecting it too be higher. I will let you know how I like each.

I think it is too sweet and sickly. I like it in very small doses but generally we don't ever buy it.

I think halva has a distinct taste and I could not eat it too often. Still, it is nice to have this store here. Chris, maybe you are right, halva could be also Jewish. That means I can promote this new store among my Jewish friends here!

I never "hald it"......LOL Perhaps a trip to the only Polish sklep in 100 miles would be in order.
