I am happy for India. This is such a huge country but they just don't invest enough in their athletes.

Jaga, I know Hindu’s from Suriname in the Netherlands who have a strong connection to India. I have seldomly seen Surinamese Hindu sporters in the Netherlands or India. We have a lot of Black creole Surinamese soccer players or runners/Marathon runners. It is not a large part of the Indian or Hindu culture. And if they play, they play the English sports Hockey, Cricket or tennis. The same counts for (Muslim) Pakistan. The Surinamese Hindu’s I know are often smart people. They work in all kind of professions and in Suriname they often belong to the elite of politics (The Hindu VHP party), in the civil service and in the Corporate world (they own their own businesses, corporations, plantations and are trade people and they are smart in sciences and study and work at universities). Germany imports Indian Hindu ICT (Information Communication Technology) people. You have a lot of Hindu Indians in the United Kingdom (England) 🇬🇧, South Africa 🇿🇦 (Durban is a rather Hindu town, next to whites and Zulu’s and you have rather few Hindu Indians in Capetown, Mahatma Gandhi spend his youth and young adult years in South-Africa and faced discrimination and racism there -see the movie abouti‘s Mahatma Gandh life with the British actor Ben Kingsley as Mahatma Gandhi), the USA 🇺🇸 and Canada 🇨🇦 as well. They are rather professionally in these countries as well. I knew a nice Hindu Indian girl from a holiday in Southern France 🇫🇷 in the summer of 1990. Saw her again in Amsterdam in the summer of 1995. Very intelligent, very smart and very nice girl. She is a lawyer in Toronto today. I have nothing but the greatest respect for these Hindu Indian people, but don’t have the impression that they are sports people. Except from hockey and Cricket. But the Indian hockey team has scaled the Tokyo Olympics chart 2021 by beating Germany to win bronze. Indian hockey team won a medal in olympics after 41 years. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/India_men%27s_national_field_hockey_teamFor Karl: de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indische_Hockeynationalmannschaft_der_HerrenFor Jaga and other Polish speakers: pl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reprezentacja_Indii_w_hokeju_na_trawie_mężczyznCheers, Pieter
