(Jacob Bradford/U.S. Army)  STUTTGART, Germany — Poland has urged NATO to send reinforcements east over concerns about Russia’s military buildup near Ukraine, which is expected to be the focus of high-level alliance talks in Latvia next week that will include U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. President Andrzej Duda said Thursday at NATO headquarters in Brussels that a beefed up military presence along NATO’s eastern flank is needed given concerns over Russian’s intentions in the region. “This cautiousness and vigilance from NATO, which is responsible for the military security of the allies, is necessary,” Duda told reporters after a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. Duda said NATO’s boosted presence could be demonstrated through strengthening its air policing role and border surveillance capabilities in the east, along with the deployment of additional units to the region. He also said that “strengthening of the readiness” of NATO units already deployed in Poland and the Baltic states should be considered. “It is also our request that the readiness of the alliance be increased, that the strategic cautiousness be increased and especially the monitoring of that situation along the eastern flank of NATO,” he said. The request comes as Poland contends with a crisis on its border with Belarus, a close ally of Russia’s. All NATO members should send military to Poland and Lithuania to defende the boarders and these NATO member states. Also the Dutch army, Belgian Army, German, French, Italian, Canadian, Czech, Slowak, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Spanish, Norwegian, Croatian and Turkish armies. The Greek army is trickly for me, because the Greeks are an Orthodox Christian country and rather Pro-Russian.

3,600 Dutch troops were training in januari 1997 with other NATO Allies in Poland. They were taking part in exercise ‘Bison Drawsko’, practising ambush techniques and counter-attacks. Over 4,500 NATO troops were taking part in an exercise in Poland. Exercise Bison Drawsko was being organized by the Royal Netherlands Army but also included soldiers from Belgium, Canada, Estonia, Germany, Poland and the United States. The exercise was giving 3,500 Dutch troops the chance to train on unfamiliar terrain and to test forces who will be deploying to Lithuania to support NATO’s enhanced forward presence. The exercise ran until 24 February 2017. The majority of the Dutch troops that took part were from the 43rd Mechanized Brigade. The footage includes various shots of armored vehicles on the training ground and soldiers taking positions in the forest. P.S.- Comment Pieter, some of the tanks the Dutch army use are German tanks, because the Dutch army has no tanks of their own. Today the Dutch army is purchasing tanks again.

Pieter, I am afraid that if they send more troops this would actually made the military conflict worse Jaga, All NATO members should send military to Poland and Lithuania to defende the boarders and these NATO member states. Also the Dutch army, Belgian Army, German, French, Italian, Canadian, Czech, Slowak, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Spanish, Norwegian, Croatian and Turkish armies.
