Folks,
The city Kiyv is now preparing for the final battle. The army and police handed arms out to citizens. I wonder how much heavy arms the Ukrainian army and National Guard still have and if the civilian militia and armed men, boys, women and girls can combat the superior Russian army with special forces and superior arms. If your realise that the Russian Federation have a population of 145,478,097 and Ukraine has a population of 41,167,336 people.
If your look at the Ukrainian Ground Forces (Ukrainian: Сухопутні Війська ЗСУ Sukhoputni Viys’ka [ZSU]) it has the seize of 169,000 soldiers and officers, if you look at the Russian armed forces it has 1,014,000 soldiers and officers. Russia has modernised it army in the past decades and is a very advanced army with modern conventional arms and nuclear arms. Ukraine is an army with party old Soviet arms, partly Ukrainian build arms and partly British and American modern arms. The odd thing is that this war is largely fought with the same kind of arms on both sides. Both the Russian army and the Ukrainian army use the Buk missile system, BM-30 Smerch heavy multiple rocket launchers, the modernised Soviet T-64 tank, the T-80 tank, T-72UA1's, BTR-60, BTR-70, BTR-80, the BMP-1 is a Soviet amphibious tracked infantry fighting vehicle, the BMP-2 (Boyevaya Mashina Pekhoty, Russian: Боевая Машина Пехоты, literally "infantry combat vehicle", the BMD-2 Soviet airborne infantry fighting vehicle, and Soviet and Post-Soviet rifles, guns, heavy machine guns, artillery, mortars and other equipment. It is fascinating that the Ukrainian army is equipped with old Soviet arms and Western arms and modern Ukrainian arms and Turkish military drones. The Ukrainian modern BTR-4 has seen action in both the war in Donbas, and the capture of Jurf Al Nasr from ISIL since 2014.

Ukraine has very modern armament manufacturers with the Kuznya na Rybalskomu (Ukrainian: "Кузня на Рибальському") ship building and armament company in Kyiv, the Red Army Standard Ammunition in Lugansk Cartridge Works in Lugansk, the LATEK OOO (Limited Liability Company), NPO Practika, Fort (Ukrainian: КП НВО "Форт" МВС України (full name), НВО "Форт" (short name)), a Ukrainian weapons manufacturer from Vinnytsia, Ukroboronprom (UOP) (Ukrainian: Укроборонпром, Ukrainian Defense Industry) an association of multi-product enterprises (conglomerate or concern) in various sectors of the defense industry of Ukraine, XА́DO (Ukrainian: ХА́ДО) a multinational company with headquarters in Germany, the Netherlands, and Ukraine, that manufactures revitalizants, lubricants, oils, greases, aftermarket oil additives and fuel additives, and the Ukrainian state-owned aerospace manufacturer State Factory «Production Union Pivdennyi Machine-Building Plant named after O.M. М. Макарова»; literally: State Factory «Production Union Southern Machine-Building Plant named after O.M. Makarov») and Zbroyar Ltd.
Ukraine can hold out if it has the right combination of heavy arms, an armed populations and foreign support. With foreign support I mean arms deliveries, intelligence support and foreign missionaries. The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy asked foreign European volunteers to fight in Ukraine to fight side by side with soldiers of the Ukrainian army, National Guard, Ukrainian militia and mercenaries which are already their fighting for years in the Donbas region.Cheers, Pieter

Konstantin PetrenkoBusiness ManagerUpdated 1yIs Russia overrated?Russia is both overrated and underrated. It all depends on the context of the question.
Russia is overrated as a competitor of the West and a kind of all-powerful global villain plotting to destroy democracy, meddling in elections, invading countries, and scoring big geopolitical victories.
Russia neither has the resources nor the interest in being that kind of global villain. Russia’s saber-rattling and political meddling is nothing but a meager attempt to remain relevant and defend its national interests.
Russia is a convenient target of ridicule for Western media and politicians. The way Russia is portrayed is mostly a caricature of reality. The irony is that the Kremlin loves this caricature because it helps maintain the appearance of Russia’s importance in global affairs as well as a sense of an external threat which consolidates Russians.
Russia is underrated as a country with immense human capital and potential. Russia’s population is highly educated and talented. In fact more Russians have a post-secondary degree than any other nation.
The Silicon Valley is filled with Russian-speaking tech specialists and startup gurus. Even despite the brain drain which caused many bright minds to leave Russia, there is still a lot of potential. Russians are too smart to live as poorly as they do.
If Russia finds its identity, reforms its ineffective and corrupt political system, and harnesses its human capital, it will have every opportunity to roar back onto the world stage as a great successful nation. In this sense Russia’s prospects are underrated.Source: Quora

Kira Rudik@kiraincongressI learn to use #Kalashnikov and prepare to bear arms. It sounds surreal as just a few days ago it would never come to my mind. Our #women will protect our soil the same way as our #men. Go #Ukraine! 🇺🇦
