It is the first time since the pandemic that the stone circles in Salisbury and Avebury have been open to the public for the event. Druids and pagans joined other visitors to mark the longest day of the year at the ancient site. "It's fantastic to be able to welcome everybody back again." said English Heritage site manager Heather Sebire. "There are people who are modern day druids and pagan groups who treat this as a place of worship," she added. Senior druid King Arthur Pendragon conducts a service at Stonehenge on every solstic

Jaga Quite interesting these Druids for at least my self had thought they had disappeared in time in as well as the Kelts. But as you have brought forward, this is not so, for by proof of your presentation they are alive and well. Although as a modern and reasonable educated person, do not believe in their beliefs, nor though at simular do not dismiss the ancients. For if enough or a thousand Muslims touch the ground with their heads, the earth will feel their touch. With the same token of so many Druids/Kelts are to believe and profess their beliefs, there may be some thing to come about. For it is not wise to dismiss some thing we do not understand, in as well as the Wickerman: www.ancient-origins.net/history-ancient-traditions/fearsome-wicker-man-eerie-way-druids-committed-human-sacrifice-005285Karl

I think there is something refreshing with giving honor to the nature. Even the traditional religions added some of these pagan traditions into their calendars. We have St. John night which is the shortest in the year and also Christmas that is during the shortest part of the year.
I guess, we just should not take it too seriously
