Searching for the relative who died in camp

The older sister of my mother (my daughter Ela inherited the name after her) had a husband who died in labor camp in Germany.

We never learnt exactly what happened to him, he just never came back home. The labor camp he was moved from Katowice in 1945 was Dora or Gross-Rosen or maybe he was sent from one to another I do not remember. Anyways - does anybody knows how to find any information about him, his name is Jan Konieczny. Many genealogy records are available on the web. I just heard a couple of days ago that the German archives from the labor camps would be open but I do know any details.

If you know the labor camp search on line. I did it for Stutthoff and then contacted the museum directly and got information on a relative.
