In all appearances, the Polish Government is feeling overconfident with their newfound military stance. What is apparent, is this confidence is based upon their military buildup with the perception as being an EU member in good standing, and, the Americans to back them up is false bravado.

For one, with the American transport of troops in the area in as well as support equipment is one thing, whilst the other is The United States is across the pond and it takes time to replace combat losses no matter the efficiency of logistics. The other is, most of the EU members have depleted their reserves of Equipment with needed time to replace as their respective industries have the capacity of production.

What this amounts to, is the Poles are teasing the wolf with very little to back themselves up with other then what is on hand, for what they have will in the course of initial attack, will be used up in short order in normal land combat conflict. If the Russian wolf, then is to use their available nuclear weapons, the Polish field combats will have little to no homeland to return to in any event.

But then, in most any armed conflicts, once engagement begins, it becomes fluid in the manner of dynamics and luck.

While I have promoted the expanse or enlargement of the Polish army here in the recent past, you have a point here. People seem not to have learned from the past. The failed French invasion of Russia, also known as the Russian campaign, the Second Polish War, the Army of Twenty nations, and the Patriotic War of 1812 which was launched by Napoleon to force the Russian Empire back into the continental blockade of the United Kingdom. It is characterized by the massive toll on human life: in less than six months nearly a million soldiers and civilians died.

The Russian victory over the French Army in 1812 was a significant blow to Napoleon's ambitions of European dominance. This war was the reason the other coalition allies triumphed once and for all over Napoleon. His army was shattered and morale was low, both for French troops still in Russia, fighting battles just before the campaign ended, and for the troops on other fronts. Napoleon alone was able to maintain any semblance of order; with his disappearance, Murat and the other officers lost all authority.

The Eastern Front of World War II was a theatre of conflict between the European Axis powers against the Soviet Union (USSR), Poland and other Allies, which encompassed Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Northeast Europe (Baltics), and Southeast Europe (Balkans) from 22 June 1941 to 9 May 1945. Of the estimated 70–85 million deaths attributed to World War II, around 30 million occurred on the Eastern Front, including 9 million children. The Eastern Front was decisive in determining the outcome in the European theatre of operations in World War II, eventually serving as the main reason for the defeat of Nazi Germany and the Axis nations.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (Russian: Вооружённые Си́лы Росси́йской Федера́ции, Vooružjonnyje Síly Rossíjskoj Federácii), commonly referred to as the Russian Armed Forces, are the military of Russia. All military and security forces, including the Armed Forces, are under the command of the President of Ukraine and subject to oversight by a permanent Verkhovna Rada parliamentary commission. Following hostilities with Russia in 2014, Ukraine increased the size of its armed forces. Because of the Russian military intervention in Ukraine in 2014, the president commissioned the governors of regions of Ukraine to create volunteer units under the government's Territorial Defense Forces. These units received minimal funding from regional budgets initially and mostly relied on donations. In November 2014, most of the territorial defense battalions were integrated into the Ground Forces. The National Guard serves as a paramilitary reserve component of the Armed Forces.

As of 2016, there were a reported 169,000 personnel in the Ukrainian Ground Forces. The 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine resulted in massive increases in personnel numbers; Defence Minister Reznikov stated the armed forces had a strength of 700,000 in July 2022, not counting the border guard, national guard, or police. The Ukrainian Ground Forces are divided into Armoured Forces and Mechanized Forces, Army Aviation, Army Air Defence and Rocket and Artillery Troops. There are 13 mechanized brigades and two mountain warfare brigades in the Mechanized Forces. Ukraine also has two armoured brigades. There are also seven rocket and artillery brigades. Until 2013, the Ground Forces were divided into three army corps. These were disbanded in 2013 and reorganized as Operation Command West, Operation Command North and Operation Command South. Operation Command East was formed in 2015 to coordinate forces in the war in Donbas.

The Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland (Polish: Siły Zbrojne Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, abbreviated SZ RP; popularly called Wojsko Polskie in Poland, abbreviated WP—roughly, the "Polish Military") are the national armed forces of the Republic of Poland. The name has been used since the early 19th century, but can also be applied to earlier periods.

In accordance with the Homeland Defence Act, enacted as a response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Poland plans to spend 137.184 billion PLN (US$33 billion) on its military in 2023, including the annual military budget and subsidies from the Armed Forces Auxiliary Fund (Fundusz Wsparcia Sił Zbrojnych).

Fore as an addition of which I had neglected to add with your presentation of Polish forces on the Forum, to now do so.

This is to commend you for your very well researched and presented presentation of the Polish Armed Forces. A very well professional grade presentation that brings to mind of no present responses from any members to say so. But, it needs be noted though, of the numbers of unrecognized visitors that have so viewed and who knows their mind set.

As you have so correctly presented, the failures in the past of foreign military incursions into Russia with beginning superior military forces, were then to face defeat as you have presented with the winter defeats of long past Napolean campaign and the German military of not so long past depicts as shown, A Defeated German Army in The Soviet Union.
