Polish caricaturists are also having a field day with some of the more controversial practices of the twins, such as their alleged penchant for using the secret service and anti-corruption squad to dig up dirt on government ministers and lawmakers. A cartoon by Andrzej Mleczko, one of Poland's most biting artists, recently showed a waiter in a restaurant telling a couple: "For an extra charge, we have a table guaranteed not to be bugged." ... Aaaaa... Mleczko is a caricaturist whom I have always admired. I still remember his first cartoons and strip stories released 30 years ago. He ridiculed communism (I still wonder how it was possible they didn`t put him in jail for that) in a wonderful way. He is devoid of any political correctness and that`s what I like most. His drawing line may look primitive but his humour is outstanding. I have found a lot of his stuff on the Net so I think it will be a long thread. Let`s start with the picture mentioned in the quote and more pictures which reflect on the current Polish obsession of bugging, taping and spying on, started by the Terrible Twins. For an extra charge, we have a table guaranteed not to be buggedOnce a week I have a meeting with trusted friends in a basement and then we freely ridicule the government, the Prime Minister and the President.

Mleczko was also a champion of the black humor. It almost look that we are missing of the Polish humor section! Maybe we need to add Polish humor to one of the Polish subfolders? I wonder which would be the best?

Referring to political humor. I always liked Szymon Kobylinski humor from Polityka, even during the communism he could sneak some politically-incorrect jokes there!

Thanks for sharing these! I got a real chuckle out of them I hope you will be rolling in the aisles after seeing his older stuff, the black and white cartoons, they are even better than those recent colour ones, especially his politically and morally dirty ones. hahahahahahahha However, to understand a lot of them, you have to live in Poland and feel the context.. I used to grow rye, barley, cabbage, strawberries and beetroots and I was always in the red. Now I cultivate lobbying and I am very satisfied.
I am afraid, Sir, that your enterprise doesn`t adhere to the norms and rules of the European Union.

Pawain, I find these fascinating - a real glimpse into Polish life! Especially since they are not "sanitized" for tourists but Poles talking to Poles - I really appreciate your taking the time to provide translations - that is above and beyond of you, Pawain.
As an extra bonus - they are good for my Polish translation exercises!

The book teaches us to share with our brethren, so I do. hahahahaha And one more thing, whenever I post more drastic cartoons, be tolerant, like now. hahahahahaha And can you imagine that a moment ago Koszałek Opałek* held a position of authority in our opinion?Proofs, proofs! Everybody can say that he is a goblin!*(a learned goblin from a Polish fairy tale)

A TEST!!!! Non-Polish participants only!!! Now, I would like to see how Americans, Brits and Germans (and one Canadian) are able to understand Polish contexts. Read the translated caption and explain what it is about: This time it is probably permanent
