Dear Friends, I was spending the New Year in the same zone like Pieter this year. My daughter was in Texas zone, John in Idaho zone. It gives me a perspective of how small the world is and how interconnected we all are. Ukraine war looks very dofferent from Polish perspective. Polish people and Polish government support Ukraine and their people 100%. Referring to Israel-Gaza war - people do not feel that connected to either side of the conflict. It is snowing here but the New year wasn't white.
Let's hope that this year would be better and there would be no wars, rather less.

Jaga
May I wish to you and your family a Happy New Year. It is difficult to understand where 2023 went and now a new year of 2024 but time waits on no one.. It is good for both yourself and your family in Poland to have this time to spend together at least for the holidays.
Yes, it is understandable for the subject of the Ukrainian war to be on the minds of Polish people for that conflict is practically on the Polish door step.
Stay safe
Karl

Hello Pieter and Karl,
thanks for the greetings. I agree with Karl that it is hard to understand 2023 year. Let's hope that 2024 would be better and some conflicts would end. Who knows, it seems that the Middle East is erupting in many aspects.
I am back from Poland, a bit tired. I met with a group of people from my highschool. It was a good experience but we just lost one person due to brain cancer at the end of 2023. Too sad. We all are getting older.
