A very informative and positive presentation of man's effort in saving lives and in this case, Aurochs. As being very prolife, it gladdened my heart to see this as previously I was not aware until this moment in time of this event.

The herd of Aurochs in a former military area in Milovice, about 30 kilometers from Prague (the capital of the Czech Republic). A huge bull, several cows and a group of calves inhabit worldwide unique nature reserve of large herbivores, along with wild horses and European Bisons. The project started in 2015. It is the first herd of back breeding Aurochs in Central and Eastern Europe. Back breeding wild cattle come from the program of the Taurus Foundation from the Netherlands.

that is amazing. The last auroch died in Poland in 1655 after Swedish deluge. Lets hope this would work. It is hard to believe this. It seems that the DNA is still not exactly the same, but who knows.

Indeed, the third generation of animals currently grazing in southwestern Germany look an awful lot like their Neolithic predecessors. The largest of the bulls clocks in at just shy of six feet and more than 2,200 pounds, with horns that rival those ancient skulls in size. Most of the bovines in question are a mix of Sayaguesa, Watusi, Hungarian steppe cattle, Maremmana, and Chianina genes.
