Prime Minister Rutte reacts negatively to violence during actions at the University of Amsterdam



Outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte responded for the first time on X (Twitter) to the demonstrations at the University of Amsterdam. "The events at and around the UvA in the last few days clearly cross boundaries. Demonstrating is always allowed. But using violence against the police and causing destruction is never allowed. Stop that!"

Mark Rutte says next Monday he will discuss anti-Semitism in the Netherlands with "numerous civil society organizations". "More and more often and with increasingly harsh words, the violence in Gaza is being blamed on Jewish Dutch people. Unjustly!", Rutte writes. He calls it a form of anti-Semitism that must be combated. "Don't be silent, don't look away."

Other party leaders, such as Rob Jetten of the center left liberal D66 party and Frans Timmermans of the leftwing GreenLeftLabour party, also call on demonstrators on X to stop destruction and violence. At both the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Utrecht University (UU), the police intervened in protests over the past 24 hours by students and employees, among others.

This is remarkable because D66 and GroenLinksPvdA have had a rather critical attitude towards Israel in recent years and have a rather pro-Palestinian support base and are concerned about the fate of the Palestinians in Gaza. Among the pro-Palestinian demonstrators are GroenLinks (GreenLeft) supporters and within the Dutch Labor party (PvdA) within the leftwing GroenLinksPvdA party alliance (coalition) there is division over the Gaza-Israel war. Within GreenLeft in GroenLinksPvdA there is a more pro-Palestinian attitude and within Labour (PvdA) there is a traditional Pro-Israeli support alongside critical Labour (PvdA) supporters who support the Palestinian cause.

There is an old bond between the Dutch Labor party (PvdA) and the Israeli Workers' Party (Israeli Labour Party) that goes back decades. The Israeli Labour Party is a member of the European Socialist Party (PES) in the European Parliament and also a member of the Progressive Alliance (PA), a political international of progressive and social democratic political parties and organizations founded on 22 May 2013 in Leipzig, Germany. Like the Dutch Workers' Party (PvdA), the Israeli Labour Party (Mifleget Ha'avoda; מפלגת העבודה הישראלית) has lost enormous numbers of members and voters since the beginning of the 21st century and the formerly large parties have become small parties dependent on left-wing alliances. Hence the alliance of the Dutch Workers' Party (PvdA) with the larger left-wing Groen (GreenLeft) in GroenLinksPvdA.


Rob Arnoldus Adrianus Jetten (born 25 March 1987) is a Dutch politician, serving as Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands since 2024 and Minister for Climate and Energy Policy since January 2022. He has been the Leader of the 'Centrist' social liberal and progressive Democrats 66 (D66) party since August 2023 and a member of the House of Representatives since 2017.


Franciscus Cornelis Gerardus Maria "Frans" Timmermans (Dutch pronunciation: [frɑnˈsɪskʏs kɔrˈneːlɪs xeːˈrɑrdʏs frɑns ˈtɪmərˌmɑns]; born 6 May 1961) is a Dutch politician who served as Executive Vice President of the European Commission for the European Green Deal and European Commissioner for Climate Action in the von der Leyen Commission from 2019 until his resignation in 2023. He is a member of the Dutch Labour Party (PvdA). Timmermans is the leader of the GreenLeft-Labour party in the Dutch Parliament



University of Amsterdam in bad faith'

UvA employees speak out in an open letter against the "actions of the Executive Board" after police actions at various Dutch universities last night and last night.

According to the authors of the letter, the university board has shown bad faith by deciding to end the occupation by force during negotiations with students and employees. “We are shocked by the administration's absolute disregard, disrespect and general indifference towards its students and staff.”

The letter also speaks of "unprecedented violence" against the demonstrators. According to the employees, this not only affected the participating students and employees, but also bystanders.

'Walk-out' on Monday

The employees are calling for a "walk-out" on Monday, May 13 on the Roeterseiland campus. Afterwards, staff will meet to discuss demands on "restoring the right to nonviolent demonstration and severing ties with Israeli institutions that violate human rights."



It is not clear how many employees were present at the demonstrations. Nor is it clear how many employees support the call.

Protesters at Utrecht University were taken away by buses. The police also cleared the university library last night. No one was arrested. Following the demonstrations in recent days, Utrecht University is closing all educational and research buildings in the city center until Monday morning.

Do you people understand now that Dutch Jews, Dutch christians and Dutch atheists feel alienated in their own country.

3 days after 7 october 2023 this demonstration took place in The Hague. These people had no idea of timing and demonstrating in the right moment. Dutch people saw this demo as a support of the Hamas terror whom just killed 1200 people 3 days before thus demo and kidnapped 250 Israeli Jewish, Bedouin and Arab citizens.



You have to realize that in Europe native European populations are not that positive about Muslim migrants from North-Africa, the Middle East, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran and Turkey. The same Europeans aren't that fond of African and Asian migrants. In the same time they see an European Israel with Western European looking Israeli's fighting against Muslim Arabs. I don't say that all Europeans are Neo-Colonist, racist, xenophobe, Arabophobe, anti-Palestinianist and discriminatory towards minorities. There is a reassonable moderate left, center left and center right and we have excellent well integrated and sometimes assimilated migrants, but there is a problem with seperatist, non-integrated, Turkish speaking, Arab and Berber speaking Turks, Moroccans and others. And when Dutch people and other European people whom were shocked about what happened on 7 october 2023, when there were not 40,000 killed Palestinians in Gaza, see Pro-Palestinian demonstrations, shortly after they saw the massacre in Southern Israel, then they thought and think, these people are Pro-Hamas, these people are terrorism supporters.

You always have to consider timing and strategy if you are an organizer and when you organize a demonstration. This was bad timing. I am not against Pro-Palestinian demonstrations and I am not against Pro-Palestinian, or Pro-Syrian or Pro-Iranian demonstrations, as long as you keep it peaceful and don't show signs, flags, banners, clothes, hats, flyers, posters, or photo's of terror organizations and killers. Imagine a Pro-Israeli demonstration with Benyamin Netanyahu or then Jewish terrorist Baruch Goldstein or an Israeli soldier with a killed Palestinian child. Do you think that people would approve that. But it seems now that it is normal to carry Hamas, PFLP, Fatah, Islanic Jihad flags, cheer the 7 october massacre, shout 'Free Palestine, From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free' (which means the annihilation of the state of Israel and the eviction of Israeli Jews from Israel), 'Intifada', 'Intifada', 'Intifada' in Dutch streets and shout 'Death to the Jews', 'Cancer Jews' (Kanker Joden in Dutch). Imagine a Pro-Israeli mass demonstration with Dutch Jews, Israeli expats in the Netherlands and Zionist Christians, shouting; "Israel, from the river to the sea, remove Palestinians fron the Westbank and Gaza', 'Israel for the Jews' and 'Death to the Arabs'. This would cause great outrage, and justly so. But I didn't hear 'Death to the Jews', 'Cancer Jews' (Kanker Joden in Dutch). Imagine a Pro-Israeli mass demonstration with Dutch Jews, Israeli expats in the Netherlands and Zionist Christians, shouting; "Israel, from the river to the sea, remove Palestinians fron the Westbank and Gaza', 'Israel for the Jews' and 'Death to the Arabs'! I heard 'release the hostages', 'Cease Fire now' and 'Peace now' in demonstrations with Dutch Jews, Dutch christians and native Dutch atheist whom also came to these demonstrations.

These protests people are as of sheep being lead by wolves and they do not have a clue of this deception. It is then to Federal leadership to step in with real life leadership which is their responsibility.

The above is best I do have to offer as being polite and socially acceptable, for you know how I do detest protesters and their waste of resources used for enforcement for protection of life and property.
