Thanks Jaga and everyone else for the good wishes. I've had my share of drinks, but this is the first time anyone has ever given me a flower for my birthday. I got up early this morning to finish editing a new article about Thurber which was a company coal mine town. I started humming that old Tennessee Ernie Ford song that goes something like; You load sixteen tons and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt Saint Peter don't you call me cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store Anyway, I guess that's as good a birthday song as any. Jaga, you might enjoy the 'The Polish People Of Thurber' story. It's kind of long, but an interesting bit of history from the point of view of one of the miners descendants. You can find it at www.polish-texans.com/the-polish-people-of-thurber.html

Dear Tex/James
I was so trying to figure out who is James? And now I know, for it is you!
May I also add with my good wishes to you on this fine day of your Birthday!!!
The day in this area of the Pacific North West, is very fitting to be your birthday. For the sky is very blue, the sun is shining {was} very brightly, the birds were singing gaily.
For I knew not for why they were singing so brightly, for they were singing for {you}-For It Is Your Birthday-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Charles
