"And may I offer to you a very welcom back!!!" Are we talking about me? I noticed that there is another Joyce here... so I have put the TX after my name...so there's no confusion I know I celebrated the big "50" a few days ago.... thank you for your birthday greetings! Joyce TX

Kai PS. Our third hiking partner is a woman about to turn 50 ... what special gift or activity would be appropriate to celebrate the event among friends and peers? I sure could use a few suggestions!

Kai...I think it depends on the situation. I f she is just a hiking buddy......then nothing on the personal nature. So does she drink coffee...nice gift certificate from Star bucks. Then there is the hiking stuff since she is a hiker (you know best here.. I can only think of a compass). Movie tickets, nice bottle of wine, fruit basket with some nice cheeses and crackers. Does she have a hobby...we always need supplies. Does she have an ipod...gift certificate for music or a gift certificate to a restaurant (they have a rack of gift certificates with all types restaurants and $$ amounts at my grocery store) You can even get many on line too. A nice book..depends on what you wish to spend, how well you know the person. These are a few I can think of. Also for some fun gag gifts (over the hill) check out this www.spencersonline.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/products.browse/categoryID/47417b60-8dce-4388-80c4-68a60938b104/

Aw geesh...pictures? No pics...I didn't celebrate...no cake, nor scream(ice cream) but I did recieve some nice b-day cards, a gift certificate to Yankee Candle, and some $ from my aunt. Which I bought a good pair of sneakers with. I don't intend to do the century mark...that's too old!! Either the body will break down by then or the mind will go south(further south then it is) I am already practicing the CRS stuff. I really don't want to confuse the husband anymore than I have to : ) Joyce TX
