Folks, Ian is REALLY busy with various projects right now but he took the time to post to his blog, that his bacia died recently. He wrote a beautiful and moving tribute to her on his blog at scatts.wordpress.com/. My heart goes out to him, Marta and Zosia during this difficult time. H

Ian,
I feel very sorry, for your family loss. You must be very close to the babcia and Marta's family. How nice! Zosia will always probably distinquish between babcia from Poland and grandma from England. I hope she will always remember her

Ian, please except my deepest condolences for you and your family. I am sure she will be greatly missed and even though it is always sad to lose someone I think it is even harder at a holiday time. My mom likes having her picture taken too and this is one time the apple has fallen far far from the tree for I hate to have my picture taken.

Ian Haven't read your blog for a couple of days so didn't realise about the passing of babcia, so please accept my sincere, albeit late, condolences. It's always sad when you lose a member of the family. The loss passes but time never fully heals.

Thanks everyone! The funeral was today and we just got back from that and the "wake". It went as well as these things can go I suppose. The weather was very kind.
We can all, especially mama, now look forward to getting on with life without babcia, or prababcia to Zosia. It was not an easy relationship between mama and her mama (as far as I have heard) but I always try to find the reasons behind these things and babcia certainly had some very good reasons during her early years to be just a little bit south of perfect.
I wish her peace, wherever she is.
