My husband came home all grins today!
In a special ceremony, he was awarded a special "Commendation by the Chief of Defence Force" by New Zealand today. It came with a special ribbon and plaque and everything!

Congratulations to you both! It is nice to be recognized by outside sources. In civilian terms, it shows good customer care.

Chris (Holli) Please give my congratulations to Wayne. When we meet, we can flash our little plaques at each other! Any sign of a more or less permanent posting through for him yet? Hope you are just improving day by day - you'll soon be running the 10 mile Marathon! My very best wishes. Leslie

Holly
Thank you for sharing!! I am not sure for the woman, the meaning in actual, but a sharing with her man his honours, is special.
I think perhaps their is a feeling in the man, not so much in expression, or for what words many actually express in receiving such an honour. Some how, it is a pride mixed with fright, then a later realization of completion of {I have actually done this!}.
I am very happy for you both! For you, the sharing of your mans accomplishment. For your man {Wayne} he survived to be in present of receiving of his award.
{have I adequately explained of this?}
Charles

Thank you all for you wishes! It was a busy day as the NZ team took us out to dinner last night to celebrate. Wayne is still grinning. This is an award he can wear on his uniform so he is busy getting all the paperwork in order to do so. He is getting quite a collection, he now can wear decorations form Canada, Poland and New Zealand. Again, thank you for sharing my joy - it makes it extra special! H
