Over the weekend, I've listened time and again to the soundtrack of the new (British) movie Ladies in Lavender set in Cornwall, England in the 1930's. It is about a young Polish musician whom two sisters find on the seashore. I have not seen the movie nor read the book, but the soundtrack is beautiful. :music: You might hearing pieces of the movie trailer at the Official Web SiteMy question: Track 10 is Zabawa Weselna - a traditional Polish dance. Pieces of it sound familar to me, but I can not place it or the category to which it might belong: polonaise or mazurka, etc. Definitely not a polka Track 12 is Digging Potatoes, an original piece for the film...overtones of Polish music? All the music is so hauntingly beautiful, I am considering its use in some local presentations I am planning about Poland. However, I like to know more about what I use because there are always questions. This forum has turned into my back-up when my own and internet resources fail me Can anyone out there help to enlighten me? Garden Moma PS It is very lonely over at Bella

GM, where is the soundtrack you are listening to ?? The trailer has only some of the violin music. I want to see this movie - I think I will go by myself with a box of Kleenex.

Franek...did you know you can set your PC to have magnified print. Not sure how it is done but just saw it in an article for Internet on TV. Would that help. I think it is a viewer. Maybe a Google search will find it.

Chris, Thanks for the link to the amazon page - I listened to some of the samples .... then I noticed the DVD is available. I think I will enjoy a movie about a "charismatic young Polish" man

:)Thanks to all...I guess I will need to continue some detective work on that piece. I forget about Amazon and how one can listen to portions of CDs. Yes, the movie does read as if it is terrific - and if it matches the music - it was only shown in my area, that I know of, in a neighboring town that has an "art cinema" - not at any of the mall cinemas. So, I have not seen it. I am trying to borrow a DVD copy through interlibrary loan and if that doesn't work...I'll probably buy it. The British actresses are two of my and dear husband's favorites...BTW, it is a British movie shot in Cornwall.

Jim, Thanks...I just thought of that :0
I've had so many things that needed doing today, that I haven't thought about finding info on the music until I sat down at this computer.
Again, thanks...
