I'm wondering how well do you know polish. What is your polish proficiency? Good way for me to score high and start the year right.

I ticked "experienced" as the more I speak Polish the more I know I'm not an expert. But when you ask about my English, oh boy, shame on me.

You are at the Advanced level. You scored 150 points out of 150.
You scored 100% overall.
That's my score. I would be very ashamed if I scored lower. I am a polish, after all.
Some questions however may be tricky for foreigners. Good luck on the quiz.

I said amateur. I scored a pathetic 33% overall . I probably could have scored that if I didn't read a single question and just answered blind! I was tempted to look up a few words that I'd never seen before just to know what we were talking about, but decided that would be cheating and didn't. I guess my cousin really dumbs it down when he writes me, because I am able to read his letters pretty well. As I made on a post in another thread, those who grew up listening and speaking without formal training should do better, because the grammar sections should "sound right". Trying to remember the rules, and apply them sunk my ship!

I started on the test and quit after a short time. It would ahve been 99% guessing game for me, the good Slovak (who does not speak Slovak!)

Why to speak Polish at all, everybody should learn only English, right? Why these small countries even have their languages? Just to mislead us and to have their "secret language/code"?

I voted "other." Even without taking the quiz, I know that I am below pathetic. When I take my next dream vacation to Poland, I am taking my secret weapon (translator person) with me.

Jaga,
I think it is proper protocol to speak the language of the country you are in. I try to learn as much as I can when traveling to foreign lands. And I think it's impolite to speak in a foreign language if someone present does not understand, children excepted.

Piwo. You are giving credit that is not deserved. Like you, I grew up in a Polish speaking family. As a matter of fact ,the whole neighborhood was Polish, The corner grocer the butcher, I went to a Polish school for 8yrs. But my Polish actually stinks.. I'll bet that those guys from Poland laugh at my typing Polish words.. I really dont care. It is honky Polish. I do not even have a Polish dictionary.. I spell the words by what I remember. My Polish grammer stinks, as well as my English grammer.. I was just a kid that grew up on the wrong side of the tracks.. But I love Polish Music. HONKY STYLE

LOL Piwo; Naw it is nothing like you think.. I am old enough to be Nanc'y Father. We have been on the Forum for a long time and have become good friends. Yeah I know that we kid around a lot,but it is all innocent fun. I still remember Nancy when she first came on the forum.. She had some pictures that she took in Poland.. Everybody else take pictures of buildings ETC. But no. Not Nancy, she took pictures of Polish Cemeteries and panaramic views of wheat fields.. They were beautiful.. right there and then ,I knew that I liked that girl.
Now there is RDY. She and Nancy ride herd on me.. Every one else can disappear from the forum for days and not be missed.. But just let Franek stay away for two days.. Then they hunt me down..
