Constantine, please excuse expressing this frank opinion, but its not AGAINST your homeland, if you know what I mean. Privet! I know, I know, my expression is rather assumed, just alittle, just to provoke the discussion

Demoralized Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was a real target for Prussian's influence harmful to Russia. The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealt has had some defects, certainly. Yet it was in fact a prototype of peaceful unification - so popular today. And lasted for some 400 years in fact. The opinion you prsented was the usual 'self justification' prsented to the world by the aggresive occupants Russia and Prussia.

World is savage garden . Russia and Prussia were young and hungry wolfs, it's fact! Hmmm it's almost pity that Russians are Orthodox and Poles are Catholics, what a great Commonwealth it would be!!!

Really I do not belive in peaceful unification...states are esteblished by blood&sword, not by persuations. In the light of this I think that EU is quite unstable organisation, too many nations, too many interests...

Interesting to read this back, I agree with you Constantine, the division amongst christians is the tragedy of history. Actually the division inside all larger world relgions are a shame, because it created bloodshed, war and devastation on all continents. Pieter

Pieter All this discussion on the problems caused by different religions in different countries, makes me even more appreciative that I live in a country, albeit basically Christian, has left behind hundreds of years ago actual physical conflict between the many religions we have in the country. I fact, there is hardly even a war of words!! I think Poland could take some notice of this type of situation except that neither the government nor the Polish Catholic Church will ever be the one to give any sort of way. Leslie
