I am usually smart enough to distinguish between the regular e-mail and a spam. Not this time... I got the information that there is pending transaction in my paypal account and since I just recently was doing a transaction through it I did not realize that the account I am accessing is NOT the paypal but a spam.
I had to change immediately the password in my regular Paypal account but I am still worried.
Here how it sounded: THE PAYMENT IS PENDING FOR THE MOMENT.
We recorded a payment request from "Live Strip Chat Camera Sexy Girls -www.video-chat.co.uk - Girls Show" to enable the charge of $127.34 on your PayPal account. Because the order was made from an european internet address, we put an Exception Payment on transaction id #POS 03 4573 motivated by our Geographical Tracking System.
THE PAYMENT IS PENDING FOR THE MOMENT .
If you made this transaction or if you just authorize this payment, please ignore or remove this email message. The transaction will be shown on your monthly statement as "Live Strip Chat Camera Sexy Girls". If you didn't make this payment and would like to decline the $127.34 billing to your card, please follow the link below to cancel the payment : Cancel this payment ( transaction id #POS 03 4573)

Oh Boy Yaga....that is one of the biggest Phishing emails going around ever. I must get at least one a day of those in my spam folder. I never open any of those emails. If you have Paypal then go to your account and check with Paypal directly there. I get one from Ebay alot also. When I get Ebays I send it to Ebay to their Toss account so they can record and check it out. Then delete it. I would contact PayPal and let them know if you already havent't. This is the time of year you will see even more of that junk because it is tax time and people are trying to rip them off with thier tax money and those pleas for help so they can get fast mony and then run with it. Just remember ...nothing is free..it always come with something. Beware. Here is the lastest list of frequent junk mail www.snopes.com/info/whatsnew.asp

Chris,
I get ebay informations also, I did not care, but this e-mail did not tell me that I got anything free. It was telling me that somebody did a transaction from my account, but this transaction is suspended and I can cancel it.
and I tried, therefore this fake paypal catched me...

Jaga,
That is how they all start out...someone broke into your account....someone used you account and made a transaction, someone.....please verify your account...so you click on the link this is "their" link not Paypal link and you have just done exactly what they wanted you too. Never open a link and even if a friend sends one to you....think twice.
Chris

To All, There are a lot of scams going around that look official, from your credit card companies. I got one and CALLED my co. from the # on my statement, not the email. They told me the biggest give away that its a scam is if it is not addressed to YOUR NAME then its not from them. It may say something like; Dear valued customer.... The best thing to do is to periodically check on the FBI site and your states Attorney General on your states official site, and they will keep you up to date on the scams. If not in the USA, I don't know wher you would check, sorry... Mary
