Pawian, how interesting. I lived not far from Cracovia and the National Museum. Do you remember when they had the exhibition "Polakow portret wlasny"? This was a famous one in Krakow. The girls from your class wear the same fashion-type of cloths like young American girls. Did you have any chance to see AGH and its socialistic realism figures? Please, do some pictures for us also Did you have any chance to lool

Pawian, I heard about it but was too young to be interested. They probably looked different in distant past, in communism etc. Today globalization makes them look all the same. I would be surprised if they didn`t. I took 3 pictures while riding on our school bus. They aren`t too good but better than nothing. Do you want not too good pics or will you wait patiently for better ones but I don`t know when it might happen???

Jerzy,
I will wait, thank you! This famous exhibition "Polakow portret wlasny" was probably at the last 70-es as far as I remember. It was already during some beginning of political opening to the world

It was already during some beginning of political opening to the world It was in 1979. I am not sure if I saw it or not. I think our mother planned or actually took us to the museum. She usually didn`t miss such opportunities. We used to go to galleries, museums, theatre very frequently. I had enough of it sometimes. However, I was too young to remember. There were incredible queues to see the gallery.

Beautul, I wish somebody would remove the rest of the old bricks/stones. Jerzy, would you like to live there? I think, it is a bit too big for me

Beautul, I wish somebody would remove the rest of the old bricks/stones. Jerzy, would you like to live there? I think, it is a bit too big for me I took the pics last summer, coming back from our boys` holiday. The rebuilding had just finished, today it looks much better I suppose. They are currently hiring staff for the restaurant and the hotel.... I wouldn`t like to live in it because it is too big. I have never had such dreams. I always lived in blocks, I got used to it. One day I would like to live in a small house in the countryside. I am already tired of the big city life.

Jerzy,
these pictures are just wonderful. I lived in the block for over 30 years. I think it is good to move to the house but... this also has some disadvantages. It does isolate you from other people a bit. Just like American phrase: "your house is your castle"

The Palm Sunday Street vendors offer palms... and gadgets Waiting in front of the church to have palms blessed The procession of priests and altar boys carrying real palm leaves. Apparently some poor plant was forced to shed a few of its leaves..... What will environmentalists say to it? Blessing palms with holy water Children come close to the altar During "Our Father who art in Heaven" the priest asks to raise the palms. Sweets are a reward for children who made palms on their own, (with a little help of their parents). Some smart guys want to cheat the priest showing very tiny palms... ...or nothing at all. The priest is merciful and they get one sweet while the rest the whole fistful. Spring has definitely chased winter away.

Jerzy, these pictures are really wonderful. Since you gave me eternal permission to post your pictures, I will do it for Palm Sunday using the pictures you posted. I really did not have any pictures to help to our Palm Sunday article until now: culture.polishsite.us/articles/art274.htmlPalm Sunday Traditions in Poland - Easter Palms from Pussy Willows and other Customs

These fotos are great indeed. The church look similar to the one my aunt goes to...very modern. I also can't believe the flowers are budding on the trees there already. Looks like you are having a very nice Plam Sunday. Here is is 44F and raining. No Spring here yet.
