Through its history, this place has been a favorite pilgrimage center for Polish royalty, a retirement home for priests, and a grim Nazi-run prison for Russian prisoners-of-war. Thanks for the info on this site. The only monastary I went to in Poland was Kalwaria. (I have an album on webshots of fotos). In Germany I enjoyed their great liquors. Here in NY they have oen that bakes breads. There is also a Russian one outside of Utica that has beautiful icons. They contribute much to the cultures.
