Yesterday I found that the popular Roman Catholic Newspaper - Niedziela (Sunday) is available on the internet also in English version. This weekly journal represents right-wing Polish catholic - somewhat in opposition to intellectual left-wing Tygodnik Powszechny. I did found some articles which I did object to. One of the better one which I recommend for you to read is about Jewish lobby. The Way The Israel Lobby Steers The Policy Of The Biggest World Powersunday.niedziela.pl/artykul.php?nr=200409&dz=spoleczenstwo&id_art=00032+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Another one which I did not read yet is about EU versus the church, so I do not have any opinion about it yet. But I am pretty sure that it is quite controversial sunday.niedziela.pl/artykul.php?nr=200409&dz=spoleczenstwo&id_art=00035The European Union and the UN fight against Christianityit is also available in Polish version ++++ if my links do not work go to: sunday.niedziela.pl/dzial.php?dz=spoleczenstwoand scroll down

There is a reason for every thing, usually the difference between right and wrong, is who has the most to gain. I find it very interesting of the great amount of interest the Catholic Church holds with the Israeli steering committee in the US. It would so seem the primary reason of being for the Catholic Church is the business of religion, and this is the business they are best suited for as their reason of being. The Americans are smart and as so in partnership with the State of Israel. And yes, the large contribution of foreign aid provided to Israel is damaging to their credibility in the eyes of the Arab world. But, with these payments, goes also the strings, for nothing is for free, for there remains the price to be rendered. In many respects, Israel is bought for services to be rendered in American interest. For there is a very large military/Industrial complex in the US. It produces/test a large variety of weapons and weapons systems. Prior to field use, these weapons must be tested, and the area of the State of Israel, is ideal with the constant instances of conflict. And as so, these weapons are used, evaluated, and results returned to the manufacturer. A large amount of funding forwarded to Israel, is returned in weapon purchases from US manufacturers. What in effect though as a counter to the loss of US aid, is the exception used in forwarding foreign aid payments. Because of the manner of advancing the total sum in one payment into a central account, then allows a very large interest to be accumulated; and this accumulated interest is what becomes profit to offset weapon purchases. It is a win win situation for the USA and equally that of Israel. The US manufacturers are able to have reliable in-house guaranteed foreign sales in this manner. In effect, the Israeli lobbying groups, are protected by members of congress. The other win, is for the US. For through Israel, military expertise is exported to other countries in distress. As an example: During the Angolan civil war, through sponsorship of US intervention forces in Zaire {now, The Democratic Congo} interdiction special forces {snipers} were trained by Israeli instructors. These squads were used to target specific ANC leadership individuals. Israel trains very excellent instructors in both that of military and police needs for many foreign customers, one of them is Germany. Following web site, is Palestinian. It is lengthy, but accurate as being of 2004. www.miftah.org/Display.cfm?DocId=3326&CategoryId=4Charles

Jaga All I can say (want to say) about your report on Niedziela, is that if I had a contribution to this rag - and I certainly would not have taken one out in the first instance - this contribution would be immediately cancelled. It is a long time since I read such outrageously biased and inaccurate comments and I am sitting here boiling. Leslie

It is a long time since I read such outrageously biased and inaccurate comments and I am sitting here boiling. Leslie Leslie I am very curios of your thoughts in the manner of what exactly is the content of the publication that is of such irritation to you? Is it the matter of publication of {The European Union and the UN fight against Christianity} or {The Way The Israeli Lobby Steers}? The publication is only a vehicle of defense presented in a manner that exemplifies the wants of this particular religious group. If this group did not feel threatened, then the publication would not have been presented. It is only logical. Charles

Czesc Charles My contention with this newspaper is not with the Israeli section - I have nothing against Jews as, in the main, they want to live their own lives without bothering others apart from seeking what is their right. It is with this Polish Catholic Church that seems to want to dominate not only Poland, but now Europe with its views on what can be said and what cannot. As you know I have no argument with anybody expressing their views, but some organisations take it a step further than this and want to impose these views - apparently wider and wider. The Polish Catholic Church appears to have more or less run or dominated Polish life and government and now it seems as if it wants to widen its scale. Britain is part of the EU - and I am coming round more and more to support it - but it is doing the exact opposite of imposing Christianity on the whole of the Union, rather it is not imposing and so letting individual views be the important ones. I do not see the Polish Catholic Church having any effect on Polish football yobbos any more than many other countries without dominant religion doing any better - c'est la même chose. I hope this clarifies my thinking for you. Leslie

Leslie
Thank you for your clarification with your thoughts. Actually, your thoughts very much mirror those of my own. My thoughts simply go much further.
What works in Poland is very good. But, it is my thoughts to keep it in Poland.
We have a very bad history with the Catholic church for their very intrusive manner. As exampled by the 30 years war fought by my ancestors, after Martin Luther hammered his 99 theses against traditional church {Catholic} practices. It was a lousy bloody cruel war to destroy the Hapsburg dynasty, and each side was just as loused as the other.
Now, today, we have a pope who is German and knows our ways only too well. It is my hope he will keep his peace in his former home land and leave us alone. For what is in Rome, may it stay in Rome.

Jaga.....I read this Catholic newspaper articles and i can't help to come to this conclusion. The three evils they seem to be harping against are as follows. Contrception, Europeon Union and jewish influence ( Israel ). Is this what two thousand years of intellectual thought has brought them? God help us all.

The Israel Lobby article makes sense because it is the interview with renowned professor in the US, but some other articles about Jews are with no merit. The EU article was not very good.
I do believe that Israel lobby is very strong in America and one cannot say anything against it because ... you are anti-semite.
They are also pushing (together with Israel) for action in Iran. See Lieberman, he is a citizen of two countries and.. he wanted to the the president of the US. Frankly, some Jewish-Americans (not all) see interest of Israel as more important or equal to the interests of the US and this is wrong.

Jaga....In retrospect i think your right. The Jewish lobby in this country is very powerful. And Senator Lieberman? This liberal Senator would never be for this war in Iraq if he felt it didn't have anything to do with Israel. I stand corrected

George,
thanks for understanding of my position. Just today in news they were talking about a possible deal of selling weapons to Saudi Arabia for 20 billions (is it safe for this part of the world?) and as the next in line was the information about the possible help to Israel for 30 billions....
