According to the Catholic church.there were a couple of them.
Was it It the the Priest that that was executed on Feb.14th.because he refused to renounce his Catholic faith.
According to legend,he fell ln love with the jailers daughter . Just before he was beheaded.he sent a note to
her.He wrote FROM YOUR VALINTINE
Or was it. Was it the priest that secretly married young couplesagainst the wishes ofCladius the Cruel as he was nicknamed because he believed that married men made bad
soldiersecause they did not want to leave their families.
SO HE OUTLAWED MARRIAGE
Valentine secretly kept marryiing young couples,in spite of Cladius who prerffered war over love..
So as the modern day Hippies say.( MAKE LOVE.NOT WAR)
