I would of thought for sure Illinois would of been higher then michigan. Both places have such nice areas for polish culture. They do have very large populations of Americans of Polish descent. However, they also have a very large total population and so the results appear skewed but they are not.

I would of thought for sure Illinois would of been higher then michigan. Both places have such nice areas for polish culture. Illinois is a big state, it has representatives of many cultures. We tend to think that Illinois is just Chicago, but this is much more than that. I did not know that Louisiana has the lowest Polish-American population! By the way, this statistics only show people who claim that their main origin is Polish. Even here in Idaho where officially is only a bit over 1% of Polish people I meet many people who have some Polish roots (grandmother, father etc), but whose origin is more mixed.
