Pope Benedict has recently met with victims with the sexual abuse scandal. Great start. Not something expected with this Pope. He was supposed to be the hard ass of Catholic doctrine. Instead he has become a understanding Pope. John Paul would not meet with abuse victims. It may have been because his guilt over this cirisis. In any event, i'm sure the Vatican has understood that American Catholics pretty much finance the Vatican. However, i give great credit to Benedict to confronting this problem.

I think that the Benedict want to make a positive change in the church. The change with abused victims was already started by our pope. He did not go that far as this pope but he initiated it. It is only so much one person can do I believe that the Polish church has also a big problem to overcome. A part of the church hierarchy is very much against doing anything

I am impressed. like you, Tim, I didn't expect it of him, and then it seems he booked time they needed and not a clock time. That is a far, far cry from the burro-cratic formula the US has adapted where you say 1) yes, I hear you. 2) thank you for your comment. 3) goodbye.
Not just the church but the world needs more people like that. I hope the news report I read on Fox was accurate. I mark it as progress.
