Globalism and GNP do not mix: they are like apples and oranges. It used to be a capitalist maxim that a corporate profit contributed to a one national economy, which was measured by a GNP, its barometer. No more! Since corporate investments went worldwide on a "global" scale, the U.S. corporate profits no longer remain in the U.S., and the national GNP is no longer the measure of all values and goods produced by the U.S. On the contrary, a substantial amount of the U.S. corporate profits is now benefiting the foreign GNP's! This "hidden" development constitutes a profound rift in the old capitalist model. What is more, as a result of this change, what we now have is not one economy but two economies working against each other and defeating each other: the national GNP-measured economy, and the new globalist economy oblivious of its patriotic commitments and disconnected from the GNP barometer! So what do we do? I do not advocate that we abandon globalism: it may be too late for that. It is imperative, however, that all necessary measures be passed by the Legislature to adapt to the new conditions: globalism must be made to work for the national economy and the national GNP! In practical terms, this amounts to nothing other than a substantial reinvestment of the globalist corporate profits in the national infrastructure and job market. In a larger scale, this means that the old capitalist theory must be reinterpreted to account for the changes brough by globalism!

There was an interesting article on globalism in Friday 29th Huffington Post under "Friday's Brief: Microtrends vs Macrotrends." The article, by Rogert L. Borosage, is titled "McCain: Straight Tripe on Trade." Under the article, there is my analysis in two posts. The paper provides an additional link nearby, on "Globalism-Analysis" by a known economy professor associated with Harvard. That professor basically points out that "we just do not know what is happening"! He observes that the Chinese GDP has skyrocketed in the last 20 years "as never in the mankind's history." That's something! He notes that, inversely, our GNP has plummeted recently to levels unknown in history ... for not well understood reasons." My posts in Huffington Post, and the post above, give a clear reason why ... even though I have never been to Harvard: the globalist model simply cripples the GNP's of countries that choose to produce cheaper ... in other countries!
