Hmmm! I spent my time on the PC today looking at the coming food shortage. Wall street Journal had an interesting article on this as did the Drudge Report. I checked Google and saw a lot of people stocking up on rice.. The west coast with their large Asian population is panicking. It is moving east. Sams club is starting to ration it along with other outlets. Hmmm, lets see. No oil no food means no cars. I think that I should start looking for a horse and wagon.

Franek, Start your victory garden today. I am old enough(just barely) to remember those WW II efforts by Americans to mitigate shortages. Given the criminal cost of energy today and the resultant state of the economy, looks like we may have to start those backyard vegetable gardens once more. I put in my onions and green beans yesterday. The lettuce is growing nicely and have added more tomatoes and eggplants. Next are the cukes and the silver queen (corn). I am aching from the effort of this garden farming. By chance do you know how to solve the problems of 2 cycle engines due to the addition of ethanol to gasoline?

Freetobe; Thanks for the compliment. YUP! I never had a problem with women.
As for the victory garden Ahhh how well I remember. But you know, we enjoyed it. As for gas, well during WW2,we were rationed to four gallon a week.If we needed something. We walked. I dont remember obese people in them days. We survived
As for corn. I read that it takes 400 lbs of corn to make 25 gallon of ethenol. Hmmm! Rice! Bah, who needs it.America and Canada are the worlds bread basket. Let Chinq and vietnam keep their rice. Let the middle east keep their oil. We should stop all exports to those people. Let them drink their oil along with their dates. When oil reaches $25.00 a barrel maybe we will; do something about it. There are huge oil reserves in America untouched. We have enermous supplies of oil shale in Colorado and the Dakotas. Alaska is ripe for more oil drilling. They have found huge oil slicks in the Gulf Of Mexico indicating that there is plenty of oil available. Now all that we need is technoligy and a leader with enough of B**** to tell the envirementolist to go to hell.. This is my take on this matter. FRANEK
