I just read an email in my spam folder and believe that is exactly what it is. It states per their records they believe I qualify and if I have not done so to click on a link in the email and fill out the form. (like I was born yesterday) The email looks exactly like the IRS homepage.
If anyone receives something similar... IGNORE IT!!!!! Obviously a phishing email looking to catch some person that thinks its real. Since when does the government alert Americans to get money they are owed....I don't think so.
I'm forwarding the email over to IRS. Forward yours also to phishing@irs.gov

Chris,
I must get 10 emails a day saying I won millions of dollars/euros/pounds. All BS. I usually bounce them back to the sender indicating the email they sent to is invalid.
