EU is very happy about it, but Serbia awaiting tough future since the future of Kosovo is uncertain.

The Slovenian presidency of the European Union has hailed what it called "a clear victory" by pro-European forces in Serbia's general elections.

"The EU presidency warmly welcomes the clear victory of pro-European forces at the Serbian general elections," it said in a statement on its website that underlined "the peaceful and orderly conduct" of the polls.

It added "It hopes that a new government will soon be composed with a clear European agenda."

The presidency statement was issued within an hour of Serbian President Boris Tadic, the flag-bearer for a pro-European alliance, claiming victory in the elections.

This is a lovely banner to wave, but one would stand to wonder of this in reality?

For there this is a complex issue with Serbia. For Serbia is caught between the power of investment that Russia currant has in Serbia, and the Kosovo question.

The Kosovo question is somewhat a question of Russian tolerance of American influence to be allowed by the virtue of silent support.

It would be good, if the Serbs would at least allow tolerance to Kosovo so as to prevent a spanner into the gear box of progress, or for that matter, would the Russians allow such and action?-in other words, the Serbs will dance to the Russian tune as long as they {Russians}hold the strings.
