PM Tusks begins extended visit to Latin America
Tusk commenced what is to be his longest diplomatic visit
Prime Minister Donald Tusk yesterday commenced what is to be his longest diplomatic visit as the head of the government. His trip to Peru and Chile will last for eight days, and besides participating in the EU-Latin America summit, the PM plans to do some sightseeing.
Tusk decided to take the trip as the summit will also be attended by top EU politicians. The absence of a senior Polish representative in meetings where over 50 PMs and Presidents of both continents will participate might ruffle feathers between Warsaw and Brussels.
The aim of the summit is the fact that the European Commission hopes to open the doors for goods and services to the Latin American market, which counts 700 million inhabitants.(Dziennik, p. 9) A.K.
